What a gadget.. Portable percussion massager with a kick!
Great buy for a percussion shoulder / upper back massager. I read all of the reviews before buying and was a bit concerned about the quality, plug, and weight of this device. However, after using it for about a week I can say that I am pleasantly impressed. If you are after a massager that is highly portable and powerful in relieving tension and fatigue whist improving circulation, I recommend this product. I like how there are so many different tapping patterns but the automatic mode works the best as it gives you a nice selection. I had my mother-in-law try it who initially thought it wouldn't be able to deliver adequate pressure due to the position, but was really impressed at the power it was able to deliver. She particularly wanted to use it on the mid-back and while it does look some strength, is handy to manually target specific areas. I use this mainly for my shoulders but you can move it to the upper back, buttocks and even legs if desired. The strength is also adjustable. The main disadvantages are: 1) the short cord 2) after about 15 minutes, one or both tapping mechanisms tend to stop working probably due to overheating - a useful feature for safety but it can be inconvenient and heats up pretty quickly leading me to question how long it will last. The heat generated, on the other hand feels very soothing so I tend to leave it draped over sore areas after it automatically shuts off. And in contrast to some other reviews, I found this massager to be very lightweight. So to sum up my initial concerns: reasonably good quality, UK plug - no issues there, and not cumbersome at all. I use this in combination with a kneading massager, which seems to work out the knots better but overall I'm very pleased with this product so far and use it daily to relieve shoulder tension.

Massager with a kick.
I purchased this massager about 2 weeks ago and wanted to give it a fair time before i posted my honest and unbiased opinion of this machine. I have recently started a new job as a postman and found that the constant strain of looking at letters at awkward angles was causing localised pain in my back which was quite debilitating. Since using this I can honestly say that it has helped relieve a lot of the associated pain, not a complete cure but a definite improvement as long as I use it every day. As mentioned this is not for the faint hearted giving massive bangs to the back if set to the highest setting which I prefer. It is like a Chef standing behind you and treating your back as a giant steak that needs to be tenderised with a mallet. It can be simply moved up and down the back so you can concentrate on specific areas from the shoulders down to the middle of the back but not so good for the lowest part, but then I have not tried it lying face down and draped over as this is not an area of pain for me. I am not sure if I have the newest model but mine has 15 power settings and 2 small round metal buttons that presumably help to dissipate the build up of heat and was fitted with a standard 3 pin UK plug. The massager itself seems to be well made and hopefully will last some time and overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Mediocre.
It helps but it's not as good as I was hoping and has a few fairly major design flaws. Like the other reviews say, It's a little noisy but so what? Sure, it's hard, that's a good thing! You need a hard massage for those shoulder muscles. You can adjust it though. The pressure is about right in my opinion, although the user interface could use a little work - it looks like it was cobbled together by some alien life form and the manual reads like 'Engrish'. It has two fairly big drawbacks: 1. After about 15 minutes of use, the motors overheat and the safety shut-off kicks in. This means you need to unplug it and let it cool off again for about 20 minutes before you can use it again. Very disappointing. 2. It doesn't really massage the neck very well and the thumper motors are static. It's awkward to massage the neck. You're supposed to sit there with the straps crossed and held by your hands but it doesn't really hit the spot, in my experience. In retrospect, it might be better to get something dedicated to massaging the neck alone. It does do a pretty good job of massaging the upper back muscles although not all of the shoulder area. Given what I know now, I probably wouldn't buy it again but it's probably one of the better devices in that price range.

Safety warning!
I have just received this item and am extremely concerned about its safety. The product is fitted with a USA style two pin plug with a adapter to convert it to a standard UK socket. This adapter fails to conform to the required safety standard for adapter (BS1363-3:1995), as it has no fuse or shuttered sockets. It is easily possible to touch the live mains connections as the socket pins are not shuttered. It is therefore illegal to sell this product in the UK. I also note there is no marking on the product indicating the voltage, power and mains protection class. Although the CE marking directive allows for this information to be on the packaging, it is actually very rare to not see such essential safety information on the device; not even a model number or makers name is present! I doubt the CE deceleration included on a flyer in the box is worth the paper it is printed on! If you have purchased this product you need to check the adapter against the pictures of illegal ones at [...] [...]and contact Amazon for a refund or replacement.

I read the reviews, as a buyer should, ...
I read the reviews, as a buyer should, I even asked a question, and the replys were all for this item, so i bought it. When i switched it on i thought someone had come up behind me to knock my block off!! After i realised i was alone i started to mess with the control and got it to an easier setting, so far it has eased my aching shoulders so it's doing the job i bought it for, it is noisy though.
