Yaw Boateng explains in his book how this disease works and how it can be mitigated. There are many factors to consider and the author shares this with his readers. There's hope for people willing to do what's necessary, this book explains in detail how food impacts our body, and what and how we should consume it. Another key element is prevention since this disease can be a secondary effect caused by hypertension, diabetes, and certain types of drugs considered nephrotoxic. The content is written crystal clear, it's a book that starts easy and builds up to more challenging concepts, so it's necessary to pay attention at all times. Overall, great work from Mr. Boateng, I consider this book really helpful! My diet is far away from perfect, I hardly drink water and eat protein but after reading this book I will be making some healthy changes. I recommend checking with the doctor as soon as possible if you start feeling any of the symptoms explained in this book, getting a correct and early diagnosis is extremely important. Review: Hope and Helpful Suggestions and Information on Supplements and Treatments! - If 40 million people are suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease then more awareness of this disease is needed. By reading books like this one you can find helpful suggestions and information on understanding supplements and treatments. Dr. Boateng is a practicing nephrologist who has written this amazing book to help people like you and I who are in a stage of kidney disease we want to improve. Recently I went from Stage 3 to Stage 2 by doing things suggested in books I've read that were very helpful. This book helped me understand the ingredients in the Snap Kidney Health Support Supplement which at one point got my GFR back up to 68! Which was amazing. I am taking it again. You will find information on corn silk, milk thistle, dandelion root and a whole lot more! Some of the questions this book answers include: Which type of water should I drink? Should I take baking soda as my stage of CKD? What foods should I increase in my diet? What foods should I eat to have an alkaline diet? This is one of the best books I've read in the years I've been figuring things out. I should be gone from this earth by now because years ago my GFR was 42 and decreasing rapidly. Now I'm at a GFR of 61 and doing great. I'm so grateful to all the authors who have helped me survive what seems like an incurable illness. Other books I highly recommend along with this one include: Save Your Kidneys by Dr. Edgar Lerma Staying Healthy with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease by the Medical Education Institute Stopping Kidney Disease Basics by Lee Hull (Also look for his food guide/cookbook that has a great recipe for pumpkin chili. I use vegetable base and water in place of the vegetable stock.) The Complete Guide to Supplements for Kidney Health by Robert Galarowicz (Information on acacia fiber that really has helped me greatly.) So with these books you will find your way! I'm so happy I discovered them and have learned a lot! To your health and continued longevity, ~The Rebecca Review P.S. Please consult with your doctor about taking any supplements like baking soda. I think I need more information on the sodium content and I've read differing opinions because of that. This review is not medical advice, nor am I a doctor!

Full of useful information and advices.
In 2021 the CDC reported that 1 in every 7 adults have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) , 2 out of 5 adults with severe CKD do not know they have it until it's too late. Dr. Yaw A. Boateng’s Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis, is a great resource to lower those numbers before it's too late. The book is divided into 12 well-put chapters from explaining what CKD is to the herbal medicine that can possibly replace your pharmaceutical medication. Dr. Boateng also presented the risk factors of CKD like ancestry, obesity, smoking, family history, age and other factors. The importance of a functioning kidney was well described in this book. The good doctor has an unbiased approach to the disease, while also presenting the benefits of natural medicine, he also presents the benefits of pharmaceutical medication. I do have family members who are suffering from this disease and knowing that we can always turn to a natural way of ameliorating kidney function is great news. I learned that certain vitamin supplements can improve kidney functions, and herbs, vegetables and spices can not only help in digestion but also improve renal and kidney functions. I have heard a lot about the benefits of activated charcoal and knowing how it can clean the kidney is amazing. 65 % of the general population in the US, is a visual learner so it would really help if there are graphs and visual representation of the data added to the book. The book is well-researched and packed with so much data. Dr. Yaw A. Boateng’s Reverse Chronic Kidney Disease: How To Improve Kidney Function And Avoid Dialysis, has educated me not only in terms of prolonging and improving the quality of life of people suffering from CKD but the alternatives to possibly reversing the disease.

Must Must must read . I bought kindle edition. Here is a complete review about this book , my experience. The book contains tips , natural herbs to add in our diet along with medical treatments. Refrences - The best thing is each n every tips mentioned are backed by scientific studies done. The authour mentioned the links of all those studies clearly. You can cross check too Summary - At the end of each chapter , quick breif summary is given for quick recall. Advice - all of these remedies are not substitute of doctors and their treatment. Along with your medical treatment , you can use some remedies not all ( depends on patient) after discussing with your doctor** My experience- i have a family member with diabetic nephropathy, so along with allopathic treatment m using these tips from book like only RO water not mineral water, sodabicarbonate (given by doctor too ), turmeric and barley , no dairy (except curd), keeping track on liquid intake. Somewhere it will help you to improve and manage ckd. If you keep check on other body organs, give compelete nutrition with supplements, that will help ur kidney to have less load and heal more. Take care of your health. Happy reading :)

I have found this book to be very useful. Is suffer from chronic kidney disease and to followed some of the regimes laid out in the book with quite good effect to my kidney function. It seems a pity that modern medicine only seems to have the approach of total kidney failure is inevitable. It is giving me back a feeling of control and as I have said slightly increased my kidney function following the regime set out for my level of kidney disease. It is early days and I do have other problems however, I am hopeful that this will help in the long term. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is suffering from kidney disease at any stage.
