Pony Eye Hand Sewing Needle Compact: Tapestry, Multi-Colour

My first time trying these needles. I've been a cross stitcher for the past 16 or so years and tried a variety of needles in that time. Anyone who is a keen stitcher will know that not all needles are the same and each one if us will no doubt prefer their own brand. These needles feel really nice in the hand and glide smoothly through the fabric. I like the colour coded idea, time will tell however if this comes away eventually. The needles feel really smooth like they have had a special finish, which you don't get on all needles, and the various sizes means both my cross stitch and backstitch needles are all together. Whomever mentioned that they can't open the packet they come in, I pity you and your intelligence, or lack there of should I say. A simple removal of a bit of sellotape and, hey presto, it turns. Its not rocket science people. Fantastic needles and a great price too. I have since ordered another two packs.

These needles are really nice to use on Aida, but the colour wears off very quickly. I tried stitching on plastic canvas with the smaller sizes and they bent easily. Overall good value for money, but best used on fabric.

The case took me back in time to my first sewing kit in the 80s! Love it! I know some reviewers have had issues with it and I also saw on the packaging that it doesn't explain how it works - so if you don't know, you don't know! You basically hold the outer circle, which has a little slot in. You turn the casing around until that little opening is over the needles you want to use. Then just empty the needle out. So the 'lid' never needs to come off. Just remember to turn the opening back down to the bottom when finished, otherwise you will end up losing your needles! I'm very pleased with these needles, particularly the fact they are colour coded. I've been using them daily for cross stitch for about a month now and, for me, I've only had a very slight change in the needle 'paint', which I know other reviewers had mentioned problems with. I've had no problems at all. As you can see in my pic, it's still blue and easy to identify. Good quality, strong needles too - no breaks or bending. It's such a brilliant and clever idea to identifying your needles, thank you! (Plus a great price, too!).

The colour coding has been removed from the container, and the variation in colours has been reduced. The color difference between sizes 24 and 26 is difficult to differentiate through the plastic. Only used size 22 so far, the needle feels a little chunkier and slightly harder to thread than the needle these were replacing.

Great size collection and design allows for easy of organisation. Durable for cross stitch and easy to thread multiple threads in the eye.

Ho provato questi aghi, dopo aver comprato altre marche note, che non mi avevano soddisfatto. Io ricamo a punto croce su lino, spesso con il filo di seta, quindi avevo l'esigenza di un ago sottile, con la cruna non troppo ampia, da cui la seta non sfili, costringendomi a continue interruzioni. Intanto gli aghi Pony hanno la cruna colorata e, quindi, non li confondi con altri aghi e sai che misura di ago utilizzi, che è comodissimo! Poi sono molto meglio di altre marche famose, perché con il lino non fanno alcun attrito, sopratutto sono molto adatti a 36ct / 40 ct. Quello con cui mi trovo meglio è il numero 26, ma la confezione contiene dal 22 al 28, quindi si possono provare diverse misure. Sono un po' più corti degli altri tapestry needle con la punta arrotondata, ma ci si abitua subito. Occorre valutare la resistenza, perché avendo io la mano un po' pesante a volte gli aghi si piegano leggermente. Vedremo nel tempo
