12" Serato Control Vinyl - Standard Colors - Black (PAIR)

After reading all the bad reviews that the vinyl was warped. Well mine was delivered in a big box. And the serato vinyl works perfectly with my vdj and Roland dj 505. Not warped. I’m very pleased with my purchaee

These control vinyls work great on my Technics 1200s turntables combined with Ortofon Concorde MKII Twin Mix DJ needles. One side of the control vinyls, side A, has larger grooves which allows the DJ to use a lighter touch. Whereas side B has denser grooves which require a heavier touch, but allows for larger sized music tracks to be played via Serato. Off the top of my head, maybe you can play 12 minute long tracks on side B, and 6 min long on side A - but don’t quote me on that lol. After about 11 months of use, and some tantrums, the vinyls have held up quite well. There’s some visible markings on the surface were, at times, I’ve harshly spun the vinyls back after a dodgy transition. I know, I know, it’s childish of me, but sometimes I can’t hold in my frustration, when 50mins into a perfect mix, I drop a couple of clangers at the end of a scheduled 60min set. Anyway, even with these visible, but obviously superficial markings. It doesn’t affect the playback, or cause the needle to skip. So, all in all, these are great value for money, considering the price, and really hold up well even after a enduring a couple of bratty, middle aged man tantrums lol.

I have been burned before (twice) with serato control vinyl - in fact I’ve been using the same records for over 4 years because the last two new sets I bought were defective - holes off centre or warped on arrival. I also sent one of these sets back to Rane for a replacement, and the replacements they sent were also defective..., This put me off buying any more control vinyl for a very long time! However, my old records had got so worn out that they were starting to cause artifacts in the audio and drift slightly, to the point I had no choice but to replace them. I was so wary of previous experience that I bought three new sets this time - the red, the blue, and the black colours - hoping that one set would be free if defects, and I would return any which weren’t. To my joy and relief, all three sets are pretty much bang on! On one of the red vinyls the hole is very very slightly off centre, but it’s not enough to affect playback or tracking when scratching. The other five vinyls seem pretty much perfect after my initial spin - they track perfectly and there is no warping. If you’ve had bad experiences like me in the past, be assured that the manufacturing problems that used to plague these records seem to have been rectified!

Generally ok but I found the A sides do not slip as well as the B sides. Not good when scratching. This could be on just the copies I have but it would seem they are not well balanced or could be slightly warped as both sides should slip equally

Brought these as I found the ones I received from pioneer were a little heavy, best decision I’ve made these offer so much better control would definitely recommend

The reviews I heard are nice. I've used Serato back on the SL-2 Box. Those were the 12" sets 10 years ago. Everything is becoming more portable and as a good DJ or whatever your trade is, you must advance with the times. Other than a small speck inside the vinyls itself it's fine. I have yet to actually test it though since I'm saving for the rest of my equipment... They're clear so you can showoff your slipmats too. Don't forget to place your visual cue DJs... Pongo 5 estrellas porque son excelentes para mi, ya desde el tacto, pasando por su apariencia, y hasta su utilidad para hacer scratch o pinchar en disco de vinilo. Per chi utilizza vinili di timecode in genere, è importantissimo che il disco sia perfettamente piatto sul giradischi, ad essere pignoli, questi mi sono arrivati leggermente "inconcati" quindi cn un lato dove hanno più aderenza ed un lato dove ne hanno meno.. tutto sommato piccoli inconvenienti prevedibili per via del trasporto.. anche in negozio fisico potrebbe capitare. Per il resto, è un disco Serato, quindi l'affidabilità è garantita dal marchio! Molto soddisfatto per quest'articolo!
