Works very well, but care needed
This was bought to renew the grout in a kitchen splashback/cooker space and it certainly removed the grout at a decent pace as can be seen in video. Its like a mini jack hammer and care needs to be taken to ensure that the point does is not forced directly onto the edge of a tile as it can chip them, (i did this a couple of times to start as the tile spacing was entirely constant), fortunately I started on the tiles that will be behind the cooker and when they were grouted the small chips were almost invisible on the light tiles, (whacking a big cooker in front of the tiled area also helps mitigate the visual damage). Once i got the hang of it the much more visible tiles above the worktop were all in damaged and it allowed me to start a grove between tiles so i could get a rake into to finalise the prep before I Re-grouted them. Was happy with finished job only down side was it was quite a lot of area and the tool got quite hot to told after prolonged use so i stopped and let it cool down frequently, ( any excuse for a mug of tea) and once it had cooled it worked fine again! Other than that a few more different sized flat tips would have been food but as is it got the job done and cheaper than replacing tiles

Great tool, but very slow
This tool is epic and worth the money. This is ideal for removing a broken/damaged tile from the wall or floor, here comes the but. I attempted to remove all the grout from my daughters ensuite bathroom, I soon realaised this was slow and time consuming. Time I have, money I don't it took 20 hours over a week to remove a shower cubicle (2 walls). It was still worth it and saved us having to retile the whole room. It causes very little damage to the tile if you slip and does the job well, just so slow hence 4 stars and not 5

Only for the very patient
It took me about 3 hours to 'de-grout' around 15 standard 5"x5" white tiles in my shower. The machine got very hot only after about 10/15 minutes of use and then needed 20 minutes of cooling time before I could start again. Maybe my grout is particularly stubborn but it was a painful process to get results. The results I did get weren't even that impressive as I still need to remove more grout from the areas I'd already gone over. In the end I got so frustrated and bit the bullet and purchased a £70 rotary tool with special grout remover attachments so that I can spend a fraction of the time executing this task. I hope this works out much better than the grout out. Important to note: There is a miniscule thread which is screwed into the underside of the tip which you loosen and tighten to hold the little attachment heads in, and if you drop this (which I did - but by some miracle I found it again!) and lose it your machine is rendered useless. I saw some reviews saying they couldn't work out how to fit the head attachments and I think they may have dropped this thread without realising. Took me a while to realise what had happened. Definitely wear ear plugs/defenders as this is extremely loud. Your neighbours might hate you especially since this takes so long to get results. The vibration started to make my carpel tunnel play up. You need to grip onto this thing for dear life so bear that in mind if you have any wrist/hand pain. Yes, this machine can do the trick. But you'll be stopping every 15 minutes and only covering a very small area each time you pick it up again. Only for the extremely patient among us. Needless to say I was defeated!

Two returned
I sent the 1st one back as the flimsy Allen Key wouldn't undo the chuck. The 2nd one arrived and after a couple of days the bit that the Allen Key fits into fell out. How I found it I don't know as it's very tiny but I did find it. A few days later it fell out again and vanished so the tool is now unusable so it's being returned too. Cheap and plasticy.

Handy little tool for the price
Having started my re-grout of a fully tiled bathroom with a hand rake. I looked on line and found this and for the price I think it is great, a dam sight easier than doing the job by hand. Having read the other reviews I find it a little strange that people are writing it down. The thing to remember when using this kind of tool is that the harder you push the less effect ( I use a compressed air chisel in my work so I am used to tools which work in this manor) The idea is to let the tool do the work push gentle and let the point do the work. I did the whole bathroom in a day ok it's not a massive bathroom 8'x8' and the tiles are 9"x7" but it made the job a lot easier than doing it by hand. Grout out in one day re-grouted next no scratches on tiles no aching arm. As to whether it will last who cares at that price it was worth it just to get the job done and to be fair it is still working just as good as when I started the job. A point to note though, which it should state on the box when using a tool of this sort you should have a break ever twenty minutes and make sure that your hands are warm at all times (this is important) as sustained and frequent repetitive use can lead to a medical condition commonly known as vibration white finger. Although it is unlikely to occur with a machine this small used over a short time period , it is something to be careful of any numbness stop and warm hand until full feeling returns. If symptoms persist consult a GP Edit up Date This unit has now done three fully tiled bathrooms one of which was twice the size of the above, each bathroom the grout was out in 1 day The unit is still working like new and the working tip is still as good as new so I am upping my rating to 5 star

Didn’t do what I bought it for
Bought this to remove the grout between the tiles in my shower in order to re-grout. The tool seems well made, the tips were easy to fit and it felt quite powerful. Unfortunately it wouldn’t touch the tile grout in my shower. Don’t know whether it’s particularly hard grout but all it did was make a lot of noise and just scratched the surface of the grout. Ah well, I guess I’ll just have to hope that I want to do some engraving in the future.

Great tool for the job
After reading lots of reviews on many websites , some of which were for and some against this item I decided to get it as the alternative method of doing it manually did not appeal to me. Starting in a hidden area of tiling to get the hang of it I quickly realised this was going to take some time . It is quite noisy and vibration in the hand is quite uncomfortable after a couple of hours use , (I used it for a couple of hours a day for a week to do the job) . Using it slowly and carefully and it does the job perfectly , getting all the grout out , I now have a great looking bathroom with clean white grout . If you need to do the job then by getting the right tool for the job makes life so much easier. So I would recommend this to you , it takes time as working slowly and carefully really does provide a great finish ready for regrouting

Very Usefull Tool
First of all there is no easy way to remove old grout. I found that this tool could not be used as the only tool for the job. Where the original tiling and grouting had even slots and the grout had not hardened to mutch, it worked fine. For areas of hardened grout (usually closest to the water exposure in a shower) were delt with by using a Bosch Multitool and then cleaned up with the ‘Grout Out’ tool. I had read some bad reviews before purchase but was impressed with the video showing easy grout removal. One has to get use to the tool and develop a skill in using it, as with any tool. It is possible to damage the tiles so carfull use is necessary (as with any power tool on tiles). It may be that those with a negative review never used it long enough to develop the skill required because they gave up when trying to remove hard grout which it will not handle very well. It can cause ‘White Finger’ if used continualy but this is not a problem if alternating between tools. Don’t press to hard and change your grip on the tool regularly. Overall, I would reccomended it but in combination with other tools.
