2 to 4 players, but as another reviewer has already said, 2 players is a bit repetitive. If you are more than 4 players, you can play as teams, which is even the more interesting. I find that 4 players is more fun especially when three players decide to follow the first that got the answer wrong:) There are 8 playing pieces of two sizes. You use the larger pieces when you are learning and you don't have to be very precise. When you get more comfortable, you can use the smaller pieces to pinpoint the precise location you are looking for. The rules are flexible so you can make it as simple or as hard to play depending on your expertise.Hope this helps.

What aged group would this suit

This is a great game for age 12 to adult, but younger children who are interested in geography are also able to play on their own. Also young children enjoy playing in a team with an elder sibling or adult.

Could I play this in another language if I translate questions for the other players? Or does each player read questions on their own?

Yes you could play in another language if you do this. You could read out all the questions, but actually the only questions that would need translating are from the Trivia category. So that is just a fifth of the questions.
