Fantastic product!
This is a wonderful product. I work in a duo and it has totally transformed our act. The reverb and echo effects are superior to what we already had on our P.A. and the marmony affects are simply staggering. The combination and variety of harmonies available add a third and fouth member to our act (both male and female if we choose) whenever we want to add that special touch on choruses or for a particular mood in a song. It is also fantastically simple to use. Just dial in what you want and you're off at the click of the footpedal pedal. Great value too.

The 'Greatest Hits of Pedals'
someone has previously described this as the 'Greatest Hits' of pedals - does it all . Not cheap, especially considering it rather bizarrely doesn't come with a mains adaptor, but it's very well built ; metal casing. I'm using it to enhance my tenor sax playing, mainly using the Double Voice tool, which is bolstering the sax sound. Others I know are using it for flute, and of course vocals. It has it's own independent reverb facility too. I think this unit needs a lot of time spent exploring the different sounds available, so be prepared to put that time in, but it is absolutely the perfect pedal for Voice and instrument harmonizing and enhancement.

Worth buying!
I decided to buy the Boss VE-20 despite already owning a TC Helicon Voicetone Harmony-G vocal processor unit as I wasn't all that impressed with its performance. To date, I have absolutely no regrets! Both items are similary priced and appear to be near enough the same thing. HOWEVER, the Boss VE20 is far more substantially built and gives both better sound quality and better overall control of the effects provided. Reverb, double tracking and delay are all provided on preset and user settings. The vocal harmonies are 3rd and 5th notes (both aboveand below the root note) along with the usual silly settings such as 'robot' and 'radio' voice (the robot voice actually sounds similar to the effect used by Phil Lynott on Thin Lizzy's Killer On The Loose). A long-overdue product which is worth buying for any vocalist.

so far, so good. Easy to use.
This is a great little box of tricks for a singer/songwriter. Works on battery or plug in. Easy to get going and I have only had it a few weeks and probably have not utilised some of its functions yet.

This is not the vocal processor I'm looking for!
Build quality is excellent. Effects are very good and eminently usable, particularly harmonisation and doubling effects. Programming is easy enough, even without consulting the manual. In fact, it's almost what I was looking for! However, for me, it has drawbacks for live use. Moving from patch to patch is troublesome. Firstly, there's the whole business of moving up and down between patches, which can only be done by either bending down to turn the central rotary control or by holding down the right-hand 'harmony' switch for two seconds and waiting for the display to start flashing before you can change selection. Then, when you've made your selection, you have to hold this button down for two seconds to confirm it. To add insult to injury, the display gets ahead of itself when you hold the 'harmony' footswitch to confirm your patch selection, showing the next patch on the screen before returning to your desired patch. Not an insurmountable problem, but something that could lead to awkward confusion in a live situation. In summary, changing patches demands considerable time and attention to avoid errors, which really isn't ideal in the heat of a live performance! Another big issue for me is that, while you can programme the right-hand (harmony) footswitch to switch other effects in and out, this has significant limitations. For example, you can programme the right-hand switch to toggle effects on and off, but not independently of the harmony effect. So, imagine a scenario where you want a delay running throughout a number and want harmony only on the chorus. You can toggle the harmony on and off fine, but when you get to the end of the number and want to talk to your audience without sounding like you're at the other end of a cavern, there's no way I can see to switch the delay off without selecting a different patch (see above). Messy! What I can see has happened here is that practical functionality has been sacrificed in order to maintain a two-button form factor. All in all, a very nice sounding and potentially very useful device, if you can learn to live with the shortcomings, but, to paraphrase Obi-Wan Kenobi, 'this is not the vocal processor I'm looking for'!

This Vocal pedal is great I use it in post production for recording and performing. It has a good range of sound and harmony enhancements that add real ambience, dynamics and effects to real time performance. The looper function is a great extra and adds much to the facility of the product. Take a look at DubFX on You Tube demonstrating the VE20 Vocal Performer Pedal - its well worth it. The pitch correction works better when you try harder and is also really helpful when developing greater voice control as it makes you feel much more confident.
