Realised I needed this book before getting too involved with Wordpress Web Site Design for Dummies. Both books easy to follow with an amazing amount of useful information. Excellent

Excellent for anyone wanting to learn about creating a self-hosted Wordpress site. I have found it really helpful even though I have had a Wordpress website for 18 months. I was able to make adjustments and make my site better through using this book. It's good for cover to cover reading or for dipping into to learn about specific points of interest.

Will always use book depository to buy books! Good price and excellent service! As for the book, easy to use simple guidelines! Do struggle with soem of terms especially given as this is supposed to be for dummies!

In Chapter 3 the author should have added a section on what to do if your hosting website is different from where your domain name is registered You have to tell the hosting site the server name of the domain site This is the only serious omission in an otherwise helpful book

Great book and easy to follow!

Very well ordered and mostly good explanations but still quite a lot of the coding that this dummy at least still found difficult.

This book is a great information base - but not really for dummies. People who have no or little idea about websites hardly can get their way through it, as it needs some knowledge about what the concepts mean - too many things to learn all at once. I am using wordpress for many years and I wanted to learn how certain things work for which I, so far, had other people to help me (essentially all the coding stuff to create menus and so on). I still feel that I better ask someone who knows and can explain to me or send me a tutorial on video instead of trying to find a concrete guidance for the actual thing I need in the moment, somewhere among the numerous pages of the book.

Never made a Wordpress website? Well this is a simple guide to help you get to know the basics before jumping in. 10/10

First I must say I love for dummies books! They simplify information that would otherwise make my head explode! I am a scientist, put me in a lab or hospital and I am at home, however, computers and webpages and I am lost! WordPress for Dummies is a great reference guide in managing and maintaining your WordPress website. This book provides a detailed run-through in helping with your self installed/hosted version of WordPress website You will learn to set up your WordPress.org account, choose a host and much more. It was interesting learning about the different versions of WordPress...hosting, self-hosting. With WordPress for Dummies you will learn to create a blog to suit your needs, from installing and setting it up, to adding files and plug-ins to customize it. All in all, I am pleased with all the tips this book provided and the visuals that made it easier to understand. I do feel that I, personally, will need to read this book again and definitely use it as a reference tool but it did give me the knowledge to begin confidently. I highly recommend this book as a great guide to WordPress. I received this book free for my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own based on my own personal experience.

Very clear, to the point guide how to start with thinking about own blog and/or website using WordPress. Good balance between descriptions of why an how in preparation and realization of own website or blog. Many practical examples and tips. Very good use of visualization. A "must" for non-expert to get website realized.
