Yes it's coming with carbon filters. But I can't remember about the plug, sorry. I remember I put and extra carbon filter (like a lining/sheet piece of) between the extraction because the vibration.

Does this cooler hood require both carbon filters at the same time, one either side or is it one on each side?

Both filters are fitted one on each side of the fan

what splashback goes best & can you confirm model number?

I'm not sure I can answer your questions. I have the 90cm Comfee cooker hood PYRA17S-90-Pro. It has replaced my old one of the same size and is a lot quieter. As for the splashback I already had a stainless steel one so didn't need to replace it. It also depends on what sort and colour you want, but just choose one that is the same width as the hood you require. It was easy to install, but I had to get a reducer to fit the duct I already had fitted from the last one.
