How does one actually unscrew the bulb holder? It twists a half turn, but I’m unable to move it any more! How do I actually take this apart?! Thanks

Really sorry, I don't know: all I did was put the bulb in mine and hang it up in a cupboard, I've never tried to take it apart; I guess you want to put a shade on it. I hope someone else can help you!

how do you unscrew or remove the bulb section so the wires can be passed through a lamp ?

There is a small tab on the centre middle that hits the housing struts and prevents it unlocking. Depress the tab while turning past two of the struts and it will unscrew. It's fiddly but can be done.
