1.5 YRS LATER - STILL LOOKS GREAT; COMFORTABLE FIT -- Quality You'd Expect From The SKECHERS Name
I just retired with 46 years hospital service where it is crucial to be kind to your feet. If you treat them well, they in turn will make your life bearable, if not a little more pleasurable. For the last decade or so I have sported several pairs of SKECHER brand shoes, both at work and home. They are available in wide widths, allow a decent amount of air circulation, are comfy, stylish, and ALWAYS look great with little to no effort or maintenance. So, when I retired, I just couldn't bear to toss my "besties" aside. Our home is a rural residence where we often wear old shoes when we go outdoors in effort not to soil our good ones. With that in mind, I passed a couple of pairs of my "old faithfuls" on to my 22 year old son for use during outside chores/recreation. But soon thereafter, I discovered him wearing them just about everywhere he went (more often than not, sporting a rather odd pairing of black shoes and tall, white crew socks. When I dared to ask "Why...", he let me know in self assured fashion that "these shoes are just soooo comfortable, Mom".So, when I spied these SKECHER SLIP ONS last month on AMAZON, I immediately knew they were the shoes for him (even though advertised for women). The slip on feature, all white "breathable" fabric, striking black accents, not-too-wide fit, and all over comfort made for an easy choice (however the rather extravagant price made it a bit more of an investment). But, despite my initial trepidation, I am absolutely certain my son will be wearing these shoes for quite a long while, especially NOW that he has gotten so many COMPLIMENTS on them. (I actually think he puffs up his chest and walks a little bit higher these days, in part due to pride of ownership, and in part due to the fact that the soles of these shoes actually DO provide a little extra height.)Now, we can't speak for durability of these sneakers just yet, other than for our personal past experience, however SKECHERS ARE renown for their quality/durability. AND, speaking of the SKECHERS brand, please don't accept their gender specificity with regard to these shoes. I, along with the many others that have provided my son compliments on them - each of us consider these great looking shoes totally GENDER NEUTRAL.UPDATE 1.5 YRS LATER: These shoes are still going STRONG albeit a bit "grayer" in overall color (only because my son won't part with them long enough for me to launder them). The interior of the shoes appear to be in pretty good shape -and- my son claims they still fit/feel good. So, no complaints here!

Problem with the material
I bought these sneakers and I am pleased with them after I went through a lot of trials and tribulations. First off, I am a senior with Plantars Fasciitis and have been trying all kinds of shoes & sneakers. I also have a problem tying shoelaces, so these are great as they are a slip-in's. The one problem I have is that the material of the shoe in the white part seems like it is made out of a synthetic type of material, which is not a mesh. It looks like mesh, but it is NOT. Therefore, it is a little hard. However, to give them a chance, I tried different types of socks. I am seeing a foot doctor and I showed them to him and he was impressed that I liked the arch support and how your heel sits in the shoe. The main thing is that the part of the upper part of the shoe bends exactly an inch or 1 1/2" from the top of my big toe. Where it bends is where they sewed/manufactured the synthetic material. So, I decided to try different types of socks. Today, from morning until 3 p.m., I wore compression socks and a sock that was of a medium material. I have 1 pair of heavier socks and they feel really good. For younger people that are not in their 70's, I think these would be awesome shoes. Every time I put my foot in them I feel like I am walking on a cloud of foam. Great design except for my toe problem. I bought the white with black and will go back and buy a pair that are a color. I would highly recommend these shoes for women that have arthritis in their feet!

More for fun than nurse work shoe
Very comfortable. Fits well. I use them for nursing. However, yesterday, I noticed there is a small worn through hole where my heel first enters the shoe. Unfortunately, this is exactly where reinforcement is needed as it's supposed to be a slip on shoe. Kind of a bummer. Cute style and color though.

Comfy and sporty
I love these. Super comfy! I wish they came in more feminine colors, or sportier looks. Some of the other styles are rather bland.
