General Finishes High Performance Water Based Topcoat, 1 Quart, Dead Flat

If you’re looking for something that doesn’t disturb the under color, produces a really flat hardly no sheen, then this is it. Kinda expensive, but it does the job, then it doesn’t matter. I spray all my finishes, so I can’t say anything about brushing or rolling.

Strippped an old pine dining table in pretty rough shape (used Klean Strip, acetone, steel wool and sand paper-it was a beast) and found that I like the result. I wanted to keep it without yellowing, or shine added to it. Read quite a few articles singing the praises of this, so I used it. Worked great-brushed it on, sanded lightly in between 3 coats. It gets heavy use, and I think this stuff will hold up for a while!

Wonderful product. Leaves wood looking and almost feeling like wood, yet protects it. Ease to apply with a foam roller.

I like that it doesn’t have a strong chemical smell. Goes on very easy and cleans up very easily. Best part is the end product, this is my go to for a clean, modern finish.

Definitely NOT a dead flat finish, maybe a tad under satin at best. But probably the best and certainly the dullest I’ve used.

For me this did not spread out well as it dried so the finish was not perfectly smooth. I think that this requires more expertise than other finishes I’ve used.
