Is this probiotic shelf stsble

On the front label it clearly states "shelf stable". But then on a small side label, it also says "refrigeration may prolong product viability". So...the answer seems to be "yes" and "no". I'm interpreting it to mean it's OK on the shelf, but it may last longer in the fridge--so that's where I put mine. But I'm also not going to worry about it when I have to travel.

This probiotic makes me happy, but it made me gain weight. Anyone else?

It makes me happy too. I have gained a few pounds but I needed to. I was down to 96 lb. There are other lactose free brands but this company had a good reputation so I chose it.

is this product shipped in ice?

What happens if this product is left out and not refrigerated?

The bacteria die. Unfortunately, this means their bacteria are really weak. If they can't survive room temperature they will never survive body temperature, stomach acid, etc.
