Work in with a brush spreads really well
Amazing product. I bought another one on amazon which was an aerosol fabric spray and cut completely destroyed 2 cushions off the sofa I'm spraying , rock hard. So bought this for the others and it is fantastic. Buying another and will try to salvage the other ones.

It worked for nubuck, too!
I bought this dye looking desperately for something to dye my two pink nubuck sofas black. There's nothing available for nubuck in industrial quantities, only those ridiculous 50-ml pots just enough to dye a pair of shoes. Why can't anyone sell nubuck dye in large amounts, I've no idea! I looked everywhere and found nothing so I decided to try this one out of pure desperation. It worked like a dream. First I applied it with a brush and then I poured it into a spray bottle and it worked even better. At first I tried to dilute it half-half as the label suggested but it didn't work too well and the pink colour still seeped through, making the sofas appear dark brown. I applied a second coat neat, without diluting, and it turned my sofas a perfectly black colour. Naturally, at first I was afraid to even sit on them but once they dried out, the colour didn't run at all. You can sit, lie and roll on them with no damage to light-coloured clothes whatsoever. I've washed the sofas since with a soapy sponge and the colour didn't run, either. The nubuck texture hasn't lost any of its properties. This turned out to be one of the best buys for our house and I can't recommend it enough.

Excellent dye
Fantastic dye - I wanted some decent outdoor furniture but didn't have the budget for brand new rattan sofa set..so I purchased a second hand conservatory set for £30 and bought two bottles of this dye to paint over the fabric which was a bit stained and dated pattern. We spray painted the frame with rustoleum and are really happy with the finished furniture. Very comfy and the dye has updated the cushions. The dye was easy to apply and good coverage. These needed two coats. The cushions will obviously need to be taken in everyday as not designed to be used outdoors all weather. Very happy with the dye - better than dylon which I tried first but didn't provide any coverage of the pattern.

Sadly doesn't work
So I tried dying a dress, but it didn't work. It was a plain brown dress, which I wanted to dye black, but it is now just a patchy black and brown mess.I'm not new to dying clothing or fabrics, I do it for a living, as a fashion designer. So thought I'd give a new brand a go. Wish I hadn't, it's a waste of money and time. I fully submersed the dress in the dye, left it overnight in the dye, added heat to set it. I did this process twice, in hopes that maybe the first attempt just didn't take the dye evenly, so I repeated the process to get a second coat on. But alas it made no difference and I'm now left with a patchy mess, which I suspect will completely wash off in the washing machine, leaving me with the exact same colour dress I started with and a fair few quid out of pocket.

Not dark enough
Looks good going on but has dried up purple and patchy but this maybe due to how I’m applying it and the colour/material from carpet

An honest Review
Here goes.I was dubious about buying this due to the negative reviews, but I took a risk and I must say I'm quite pleased with my results.Firstly. Be prepared. The bottle is much smaller than you would imagine when it arrives as you can see on one of my photos with a standard mug next to the bottle. It is 1lt (1000ml) though. (This has been one of the negative reviews unexpected size vs price )Secondly - don't expect 1 bottle to be enough for a peice of furniture (depending on the effect you want of course)Very easy to use and mix.I used the spray bottle method after reading other people's reviews. I diluted in thirds for my first bottle into a 500ml spray bottle.I used a small old jug (as It wont wash properly after use) to measure the dye and pour into the spray bottle, and then the same for the water, into the jug first then into the bottle. When shook, the mixture does throth up a little. Shake the bottle before use, but it does throth up a little so just prepare for that. It won't explode like fizzy pop though! After the first bottle, my results were admittedly patchy, mainly due to the sofa material soaking up the mixture and not the actual coverage by the spray, so I knew I would need another bottle. My first bottle300ml + 200ml water300ml + 200ml water400ml + 100ml water final coatSecond bottle300ml + 200ml water300ml + 100ml water400ml + small amount of water for nearly a neat mixture. The spray bottle did go down quickly and as I did my first coat coverage looked even but my sofa did start to soak it up a little which made it patchy.Half way through my second method I rubbed over the sofa (use either a kitchen sponge or hands with latext/rubber gloves) to make sure the mixture had got into the fibres...This was a small 2 seater sofa, and in all honesty I could probably go again with a third bottle but due to cost I decided against it and got some cushion covers... I have got the frame of the sofa a lovely solid black after 2 bottles.Took about 48 - 72 hours to fully air dry in a warm room with heating on.It is a very runny dye, and even more so with added water, so is a messy job.Wear gloves and if you get it anywhere you shouldn't, wipe it off straight away as when it drys it doesn't budge! So far, when touched when dried, the dye hasn't come off the sofa onto hands or clothing....All in all, I think the dye is good, and suited for purpose, but you need more than you first think to get professional results. The sofa I have covered was a light blue colour, different colours or materials may cover differently!.After spending £46 on 2 1ltr bottles, I realise they sell a 5lt bottle for £36 + postage costs, which admittedly would have worked out cheaper for more....but I was impatient and wanted prime next day delivery and didn't see the second larger bottle until after I had purchased the first small.

Brilliant stuff
Brilliant stuff. I didnt dilute it at all. Used it for a bed base and it was plenty.

It does what it says on the bottle!
I found this product really easy to use. The instructions are clear and accurate.I filled just over half a spray bottle with dye and the other with warm water, saturating the sofa. I used the entirety of the 1l bottle for the front of the sofa and bought another for the back and sides. The staining that was there prior didn't come off, so this shows through on the sofa but only a little! First coat was patchy but I just kept going with it.For the price, I really can’t complain at all. I was put off by some of the reviews, so didn’t have high expectations but I’m really impressed with the outcome now it’s dry.If you get the dye on you, wash it off ASAP as it doesn’t budge if you leave it on until you’re finished!
