We have an older style home, so none of the plugs are 3 prong enabled and not grounded, therefore we have to use adapters on the end of the plugs and lots of power strips, because we're unable to rely on just the 2 prong sockets by themselves. Recently however, we've been noticing the power strips keep getting overloaded and cut off because they can't handle bigger items needing to be plugged into the strip, such as a window ac unit. You have to have a very strong, durable, dependable, and most importantly, capable of being able to power bigger appliance electrical needs. This power strip does great. It's made well, and heavy. It does have am option to hang it on the wall, but you can't see our where it's needed in our home to be plugged in at so we didn't hang ours up. Not only are our plugs and electrical unit older, the amount of plugs installed in our home suck, because people didnt use to have a ton of items needed to be plugged in during the time the house was built. So we always need something that has lomger length cords, and this power strip has much more length on this than noral everyday power strip. The main plug that needs to be plugged into the outlet fits tight into the socket with no wiggle room. The plug itself is reinforced with extra rubberized material to provide good grip when needing to pull the plug out from the wall. The outlet plugs that are along the length of the product are also well done. Every plug I have put in has fit nice and tight, with no wiggling and no sitting to one side with the heavier cords or big extension cords. It is strong, having tons of plugs being used on every slot available and still hasnt overloaded or switched the outlet off or having to reset the breaker switch. This is a great product for larger more powerful items needing to be plugged in, refrigerator, washer/dryer, stand alone freezer, room heaters, etc., so if it powers the big items with ease, then it's going to do great on your smaller items too. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend to others, I'm actually writing this review due to coming back on amazon and currently ordering a few more :) The only thing I don't like is the color, I do like the gray colored one better, however the gray wasn't available at the time I was originally purchasing this item, but thats a small thing that I'm able to overlook bc of the quality and great performance.

Two yrs ago, i discovered the cheap power strips i'd been using had actually melted at some point and were pretty scarey looking. so i ordered three of these 'power strip' Surge Protectors. The other day, a power grid transformer three miles from my home blew up. We were without power until it was fixed. But when the power came back on, two expensive power strips were not working. They had suffered a power surge when the power was restored, Now ive always called them power strips; as i have learned not all power strips are surge protectors. I had assumed all power strips were surge protectors; I was wrong. One was a $30 dollar power strip that my computer, printer, modem were plugged into and the other was a $60 power strip that my livingrom tv, dvd player was plugged into. The three surge protectors i bought two years ago, were just fine and so was everything plugged into them. But the two powerstrips had been fryed and smelled like burning electrical wires. Luckilly, the items plugged into them were ok. Im am not taking any chances and ordered two more of these surge protectors to replace the power strips that burned up. I did not realize, power strips are not surge protectors unless they say they are. The joules is the key word. If you dont see that in the description, then its just a power strip. I now own five of these surge protectors and i feel totally safe from the next power surge or outtage.
