What sharpener is this compatible with? Other users have pointed out that the normal Staedtler sharpener won't really fit with this pencil.

I tend to flip the lead into standard 2mm Staedtler pencils, sharpen 10-20 at a time, then just line them up for use (sketching, writing, whatever I have to do that day). It's a quiet, contemplative time for me. But, I will admit that this works for me because I am a slow sketcher/hobbyist level person. Also, it keeps my teenaged offspring from stealing my sharpener as they can come up, grab a sharpened lead, all without fuss.

Can u use the same 2mm leads that are used with lead holders?

Yes you can, it's just like standard lead holders, just with a mechanical component.

Is the pencil made from any plastic? excluding mechanisms because most pencils $0-20 have plastic in them

On the 0.9mm the exterior is completely metal. Although the cap covering the eraser is very light it is definitely metal. Upon disassembly of my 0.9mm the only piece of plastic is the tube inside that houses the lead, the clutch mechanism is metal. I would like to assume the 0.5mm is constructed exactly the same just with a tip and clutch for the smaller lead size. The price has come down over the years, mine was a few dollars more when I had to order it from Amazon.com and was shipped from Japan.

What are the lead type selections available on the spinner (i.e. 2h, 2b, etc.)?
