For those who want an in-depth understanding of 90% of Nmap this is the book to read, as the book mentions there are lots of other commands and scripts that are not covered, which have been added to recent versions of Nmap. There are lots of pages to read and commands to navigate. well worth the time to obtain the knowledge on Nmap and Zenmap.

This book has been written by the designer and creator of Nmap - and it shows! Fyodor, is a gifted author, he explains his thought processes behind each function, what "he" sees from the output. In this way, like an apprentice, you learn what to look for, by learning what Fyodor sees. This is an easy and informative book, that's very unusual in it's depth and scope. You'll learn to tool up Nmap, with different functions. What function you would use and why. What functions most disregard - and why they shouldn't. It's so easy, it's like a giant lightbulb going off in your head, as the jigsaw puzzle all falls into place. It's difficult to imagine where or how, you could get a better introduction to Nmap or Scanning. I just can't praise this book highly enough.

Great Book on NMAP , and how to use it , with correct syntax and explanations, a full and comprehensive book . A must read & Buy for those involved in Network Security.

The book is in mint condition but the packaging teared when I received it. Value for money. Recommended.

Excellent book for communication training

This is a good guide to the use of NMAP in testing for vunerabilites in your network. Is your firewall etc actually behaving as you thought it did. I ran it from a PC using Ubuntu Linux.

For all nmap users, this is definitely the reference book to own for all purpose. The reader will learn the exact right way to scan hosts and subnets and most importantly the reader will be able to adapt NSE scripts to their specific targets.
