How many carriages can this pull? Thank You.

We have another wooden, non-motorised set, and this locomotive can pull a couple of wooden carriages okay. With anything more than that, it appears to be struggling a bit. It may do much better if carriages are made of plastic.

Does this engine have any sound effects?

I don’t think this smaller one does. It is actually my grandson’s so not seen it for a while. The larger one does though.

Do you need a screwdriver to change the battery (I ask because my son has a red one that needs a tiny screwdriver for this task)?

Yes, it needs a small (not tiny) screwdriver....

Will this work with ikea track

Hi If the track is like brio or big jugs wooden track it should. We have used with cheaper wooden track from Lidl ok. Thanks!
