Bought as a gift but the recipient really likes. Bought this machine but with the original slush puppy concentrate. The product tastes exactly as it would from the shops. You do have to make sure you have enough ice ... we purchased 3 sets of 111 ice cube trays, which does the trick. Then, it is just a chemical reaction with salt and you've cracked it.... be careful not to let salt get in the juice tank or juice into the ice and salt container. It takes about 30 minutes to work .... starts to work after 20 minutes but to ensure all the liquid is slushy we wait until 30 minutes. Do not leave liquid in the container as it will leave a residue on the stainless steel panel and will then .... go off. Clean after use and this machine should last a while.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she was so upset, as was I. Have watched videos, taken onboard tips and tricks, tried this with varying ratios of ice and salt in the cooling canister. It does not work. The canister gets covered in ice, the plastic mixing blades get stuck and it can’t move. The motor casing gets boiling hot. The liquid in the outside canister does not turn to slush. Total waste of money. Worst thing is I bought it early for Christmas so it’s outside of the return period so it will be going in the bin. Do not buy.

So i've run this machine twice today (day of purchase) first time pretty good slushy, second time lovely super chilled sour apple drink... so it seems important to use rock salt in the amounts specified, i used sea salt which apparently makes ice melt faster.... If you follow the instructions in the manual you'll end up with a tasty slush... if you dont... well you shouldnt complain about the product. pros... tasty slush cons, cheap build quality but what do you expect at this price point

This item does exactly what it says ot does. If you follow the instructions you will get lovely slushy drinks every time. Tips to help you. Make sure you chill the metal drum before use. Use rock salt instead of normal salt. The water the goes into the metal must be chill. And finally, make up and chill your slushy mixture in advance.

Very well built easy to use and clean works well

Unfortunately we have been unable to get the slushee machine to work! We have tried by following the instructions multiple times and let it run for longer than suggested and the mixture remains liquid. It does not turn into slush. Really really disappointing as my daughter was so excited for this!

Managed to make slush on the first attempt unlike other purchasers, but in use the gearbox running the spinning scraper inside is so noisy it’s unbearable after a short while and makes you think the machine is about to die. I don’t think I will get many uses out of it before it decides to pack up and eject it’s inner workings out from the bottom but until then I’ll continue to use it and wear ear defenders. For the cost I can’t complain, I bought it on a whim during a heatwave and the genuine dog branded machine was an extra 20 quid and it probably shares the same internals as this one. My only gripe is my ice machine doesn’t hold much and I managed to empty it to fill the central container before it made slush.

Having seen videos of failed attempts with other makes of slushy machines, decided to try this one. We have used it a few times now and not had one fail. Works a treat and great results. I personally think it looks more grown-up than the other one on Amazon. Price was great so got 2 both produce same great results.
