Wilton 601-5580 Icing, 12-Count Gel-Based Food Color, Acrylic Coated Cotton

I read other reviews and knew these would probably be good but I have to say I really am delighted with these. I think the key fact is that these are 'concentrated' gel colours as opposed to your standard supermarket gel colours (not concentrated) so they give a great colour with very little of the gel required (a toothpick dipped). I previously bought a gel colour in Tescos and had to use a whole tube of the colouring for one small piece of fondant so these will last a long time and as such are definitely much better value for money in the long run (they will last ages!) and you can get a great range of colours from them. The only slight negative is that it takes a couple of weeks for delivery but I knew that before ordering so I didn't mark it down as this was clear. Definitely get these, you wont regret it and the other thing to mention is that these don't interfere with the texture of your fondant because you use so little, whereas I think the supermarket ones do because you have to use so much - happy baking!

Essential coloured gels, perfect for colouring your cake batters, fondants, icing and meringues. I love the fact that there are 12 colours in this set, at under a pound each, that is great value. Also the colour is so intense you only need the slightest drop to colour, and it is easily buildable to the intensity that you need. Use a toothpick to dip in, and mix before seeing if you need to add more. I love the fact these colours stay vibrant after cooking, you cannot get that from normal food colourings, and even some of the other well known gel colour tubes, you need to use almost all the tube to produce any colour worth noticing. Wilton are a name you can trust in the baking world, and I shall definately be getting some more gel colours soon...already got my eye on the neon set!

Have used these dyes for years, very bright and the best I've been able to find

I'm an occasional (10 big birthday cakes a year) baker. & I've always been irritated by having to spend on a large pot when I only want a small amount of colour, which will dry out long before the pot is empty. The pastes colour large quantities of icing well. I make Royal blue icing to cover a 9'' cake & the pot's still full. There's a reasonable two year expiry date. Downside is that there is no orange & only one rather bright green, not quite right for life like leaves. but where would you stop putting colours in the box! Another set including these colours would be great. They were delivered in a few days from this supplier - unlike some reviews which said they'd had to wait for shipping from the States. Will definitely use them again

Havent used Wilton colours before but as Lakeland no longer stock gel colours I ordered this to replace my food colours. I went for this pack as there were more colours in it, albeit in slightly smaller pots - however as with all gel colours I always find the pots harden up long before you finish them as you need such little colour. These proved to be just as good as the ones I'd previously used, really vivid colours with little gel required (with the exception of the red which needed a bit more to achieve a bright result). Great price and delivery was just over two weeks = great considering they came from America. Would highly recommend. Gel colours last for such a long time, and whilst this pack was around the £11 mark, they pay off in the long run. Would def buy other wilton products having now used these.

I cannot rate these colours enough!! They are awesome!! To explain better, I bake alot of rainbow cupcakes, where the sponge is rainbow not just the icing, previously I had always bought Dr Oetker gel colours, but this became quite expensive as I was having to use an entire tube of each colour each time just to get the neon-style, vivid colours I was looking for................then I found these!! all it took was a toothpick dipped in each colour twice and BAM! The colours are amazing!! Everyone commented on how vivid and bright the colours were, despite me having made them before, and the best part is you get 12 and they will last for ages!! If I could give it 10 stars I would!! I recommend these colours to ANYONE who wants to add some fun into their baking!!

I bought these because i find the liquid food colourings i generally use for icing are never strong enough colours, and if you use too much of them to make the colour stronger then the butter icing can be too loose or split. These are perfect- they are really strong colours and because they are a gel they mix in much better and give a much stronger colour with a really tiny amount. I've used them in cakes and in bath bombs and they are great for both. there are loads of colours in this set - some i doubt i'll use (brown?!!) but the rest are very vibrant and definitely worth using

The red colour needs a lot but you never succeed in having red.The others seemed ok but I haven't used them so far.Only black but also they give a not so nice smell if you mix them with chocolate.Maybe to use them only in frostings

Ho sempre saputo che la wilton faceva prodotti ottimi ma non avevo ancora avuto il piacere di provarli ! Usato subito il giallo per vedere come usciva fuori nel l'impasto di una torta semplice , A DIR POCO UN BEL GIALLO ACCESSO 😃Ho messo addirittura due puntine di gel come prima volta ma per le prossime anche una sarà sufficiente , dopo la cottura era ancora più accesso come colore ! Pienamente soddisfatto ! Proprio quello che cercavo ! Spedizione precisa e pacchetto intatto ! LO STRA CONSIGLIO !! 😃😃

These are terrific colours. They work really really well and it doesn’t take much to create a very good colour. You only need a little bit. I highly recommend

Very good quality gel colours for optimum results. Very little product required so it doesn't change the texture of the icing, batter, etc. Colours appear light when initially mixed with the icing, batter, etc but the final look consists of bright vivid colours and that's what makes this product absolutely amazing.
