Darwin Thermocafe Food Flask

I love this thing. I recently bought another as my old one has literally been round the entire world with me when I used to work abroad in mountain enviroments. It's quality and well made, easy to clean, doesn't leak (providing you don't over fill it) and looks smart. It has taken it's fair share of knocks and even with several dents and dings it still keeps liquid hot for longer than my non-branded flasks I bought to replace the original. I would always come back to this though and finally decided just to buy another. I drink all my hot drinks out of these, it's nice to have nearly a pint of tea that stays hot for a good 45 minutes even with the lid off. Nothing quite like entirely forgetting about it and when you remember, it's still easily hot enough to drink. With the lid on, it stays hot all day too! It's big enough for noodles and other hot foods like soups and even small pasta meals, but I use it primarily for drinks. I once left it on a mountain when I was at the bottom of the mountain and in the 2 days I was without it, I've never missed a cup more in my life. No more drinking out of regular peasant ceramic/pocelain mug/cups!!!

This is perfect for taking hot food to work 🍲 In the canteen at work there are no vegan options for me so I now usually make a big pan of curry or stew and take it in with some bread and butter. As long as you pre heat with boiling water, your food will stay hot. On the first day I used it, I left mine in my car in an insulated lunch bag and when I came out to eat it, it was TOO hot 🔥😮 I used to have another one of these but it had a cup on the lid. I lost the rubber sealing ring so that flask became useless. If this flask had the same cup option, it would be perfect for cooling down food that is very hot when you're on a tight schedule for lunch. I may just take a small bowl in in future. But that's not a fault of Thermos. This flask is😅 brilliant for keeping your food hot and the size is perfect 🙏🏻

I have used this food flask for various types of food, such as pasta, rice, curry, salad, and fruit. It keeps the food hot or cold as expected and does not leak or spill. This is described well excepting the stainless spoon is plastic and a recommended purchase, but it would be better with a longer spoon, plastic or otherwise, hence the four star rating. The spoon 'folds' (the handle swivels on a pivot point) for lid storage but 'unfolded' it doesn't easily reach the bottom of the flask. I use it for porridge and it keeps it hot admirably for a couple of hours ... I've not tested it beyond that as I can't wait long enough. This was bought to replace a similar flask that had been dented and, as a result, had lost its insulating capacity so it is worth bearing in mind that it needs to be looked after to maintain efficient heat retaining capability. A metal lining as opposed to a glass lining doesn't make it 'unbreakable'.

Fab flask for food. Bought one for kids lunch for school, had to buy another for the other kid! Wide opening which makes it easy to fill, eat from and clean. Doesn’t keep the food piping hot for more than a few hours but kids report it is a “just right” temperature at midday after being filled around 8am.

This flask is a fraction heavier than the top 0f the range thermos flask which I also have and for the money it is a very good light weight flask that keeps you drink hot for long enough to enjoy it. Not going to use it for food just for coffee..excellent thermos quality.

I love this flask, it keeps my lunch hot from when I put it in at 7.30 am to when I eat at 1pm. I fill it with boiling water for 5 minutes before putting my food or soup inside and this seems to help keep the heat of my lunch. The food has lost a little heat by lunchtime but it is still very warm. I have not experienced any leaks, and the included spoon is very useful.

We have had three of these and two no longer keep food hot. When they work they are great, but they fail after a few uses.

Je fais chauffer mon repas vers 7h30 au matin. A midi et demi, le repas est tiède voire franchement froid. J'ai essayé de remplir la gamelle d'eau bouillante pendant une heure, et même de la faire chauffer au micro-onde, rien n'y fait, le repas ressort froid quelques heures plus tard. Vu le prix, je ne recommande pas.
