Walker's Ultimate Power Muff, Black

I bought them this week in the US and tried them today on an indoor range. As with 27db nrr expected, they are on the edge with .308 or higher but work great with 9mm. So for indoor rifle shooting additional ear plugs are recommended but for hand guns and outdoor shooting they are perfect on their own. Also indoor if you shoot alone. They sit very comfortable and the microphone pics up every little noise.

This Product Review is written by my husband who requested this Hearing Protection as a gift to replace "Peletor Sound-Trap" ear Muffs which he uses for shooting a 40 caliber Smith & Wesson M&P in an indoor range. The Walkers Game Ear has a reaction time of 0.02 seconds and a noise reduction rating of 27dB. The Sound Protection is better on the Walkers Game Ear then the Peletor Sound-Trap. To insert the batteries in the Sound-Trap the Sealing Rings that are attached to each side of the Ear Muff must be removed. Changing batteries in the Sound Trap is very difficult and it is very easy to damage the Sealing Rings when removing them. This is a very poor design for a battery compartment in an Ear Muff. The Walkers Game Ear has a Battery Compartment on each side of the Ear Muff with a cover that can be easily removed without the need of removing the Sealing Rings. The Walkers also has significantly better amplification for hearing speech; which is a necessity when listening to a Range Officer speak during Qualification. The Walker Ear Muffs are slightly larger then the Peletor Sound-Trap. The slightly larger size is NOT uncomfortable over several hours of shooting at the Gun Range. Overall, if you are Law Enforcement; Border Services; or an Armoured Guard employee, the Walkers Game Ear GWP-XPMB are highly recommended over the Peletor Sound-Trap when shooting your handgun or shotgun during Range Qualification.

Very pleased with this product. I have tried a large variety of hearing protection and these work extremely well and are very comfortable. I have nothing bad to say from my experience using them for about a year for causal shooting.
