I bought two of these and followed a YouTube video to make light shades. I couldn't believe how easy it was. Would recommend.

I'm so happy with my finished lampshade which is using up some wallpaper offcuts. The instructions video is be brilliant. As I was using wallpaper instead of fabric I had to adapt a bit. First of all wallpaper isn't wide enough so you have to pattern match a join. I held this together with a small strip of double sided tape. However, I did forget to take off the tape on the other side before I stuck down the lampshade panel. It shows a bit when the light is on but not the end of the world! You also need to stick a length of double sided tape to the long overlapping edges so you can fold the paper inside after you've rolled it up. It ended up being easier than I expected so I'm happy.

Absolutely brilliant, it worked so well and was so easy. I made mine using good quality wallpaper, rather than fabric. Would 100% purchase this again for future lampshades.

Great product but written instructions missed a step where you food over the material for seam edge to make it a nice edge. I noticed this before I rolled it, the edge would have shown the material fraying, but it was too late as I had cut the material. I then got the off cuts to create a seam that would not be frayed but resulted in a bulky seam edge that I couldn’t fit behind the ring. Shade still looks ok but I have learnt this for next time. Look at video as it shows this step but it is not on written instructions. Other then that it was easy to use and I will know for next time but would hate for others to do the same. Especially if buying expensive material.

Purchased to use for a lampshade for nursery. Clear instructions but also watched the video instructions first which were really helpful. Would recommend using a second row of tape to seal the edges as recommended by others. The plastic tool in the kit for pushing the edges down was very flimsy so would recommend using an old bank/credit card as a bit more robust. Overall excellent value for money and you would not know it’s home made!

Was struggling to find matching sets for my little ones room. These kits were great! I purchased an extra set of bedding and made it into matching lampshades, the kit was super easy to follow and use and the lampshades look great! Really happy and will definitely use again rather than agonising over trying to find matching sets!

Very easy to follow kit with pictures. All You have to provide is the fabric of your choice. The added bonus is that the stick it backing is pre-cut to size and on the edge which makes it even easier than buying it on a roll.

Très contente de mon achat. Kit complet, fournitures au top. Notice d'explication en anglais mais facile à traduire sur internet. Tutoriel vidéo en français très facile à comprendre avec toutes les étapes bien détaillées. J'ai réussi à me refaire un abat-jour comme une pro pour un prix très abordable.

Ich habe mit dem Bausatz eine Lampe fürs Kinderzimmer gebastelt, die richtig professionell aussieht. Das Basteln ist nicht schwer, sollte aber auf jeden Fall von einem Erwachsenen übernommen werden. Preislich lohnt sich das wirklich, schöne Lampenschirme sind ja unglaublich teuer und hier habe ich inklusive Kosten für den Stoff gerade mal gut 20 Euro bezahlt. Bei der Wahl des Motivs sollte man allerdings beachten, dass der Umfang der Lampe natürlich festgelegt ist, d.h. an der Schnittkante kommt es zwangsläufig zu einem Bruch im Motiv (auf meiner Lampe sind an der Stelle jetzt zum Beispiel zwei halbe Hunde). Beim nächsten Mal würde ich also glaube ich kein ganz so großflächiges Motiv wählen, da fällt das dann sicher weniger auf. Bei meinem Bastelset war ausreichend Klebeband dabei. Die Anleitung ist sehr ausführlich und weist gut auf mögliche Fehler hin, allerdings sollte man grundlegende Englischkenntnisse mitbringen, mit den Abbildungen alleine wäre ich glaube ich nicht so gut zurecht gekommen.
