It works
This thing works great for me. It opened 2 different type backs on 2 completely different watches that haven't be touched in years. I have a 2 pin "wrench" for opening the backs and I always hated it. It would slip and scratch the backs. This ball works, with a little effort and NO scratches. For under $5 bucks this is a deal.

Didn't open any of three watches I tried
The ball arrived in a plain little box with two inflation needles and no instructions. Knowing the ideal inflation pressure would have been handy, although the small size of the ball makes hitting a precise number difficult. Even quickly yanking the needle out causes a little loss of air.The ball was inflated when it arrive, albeit a little squishy. After a few unsuccessful attempts to open several watches, I added some air to firm it up somewhat. On one watch, I managed to get the back cover to rotate a tiny bit. But I couldn't get it to keep going. The problem is that this friction ball relies on you pressing it very firmly against the back of the watch and rotating. If you don't have enough pressure, the ball slips and doesn't move the cover. I found myself really exerting a lot of force to prevent slippage. Even then, the cover didn't rotate. I gave up and ordered a proper kit with a case wrench and a bunch of other watch tools. My guess is that one could open some cases with this ball, but far from all. Inflating the ball to as firm a pressure as I could manage seemed to help its contact with the watch case.

Works! But…
I just left a review for the more expensive Bergeon ball. My main criticism of that ball is that it is more expensive than what it used to be.This ball seems to be a bit thinner of rubber than the Bergeon ball, which makes it more flexible. The benefit is that you can shape it more easily as you squeeze it into the back of the watch case into whatever shape you need. The problem is that the thinness makes it give a little more if you’re trying to twist off a tight case when you need it to stay stiff instead of flexing. If you’ve ever opened a watch with a rubber ball, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It also may not last as long because of the thinness, but I think it will work just fine for most people. It also came with a pump needle, which the Bergeon ball did not! The Bergeon ball was also more flat, and this one was much more full.I’ll try to update my experiences as time goes on if anything changes.

Opened a s stubborn watch case back
Worked great on a stubborn watch back. I saw a review video by a watch repair person that went over the various types of screw case back opening tools. Surprisingly these ball types came out near the top. What's good about these is there is no chance of scratching the case. This tool is for screw back cases only. Snap backs need a different type of wedge tool. When coupled with a case holding vise opening a screw back case is rather easy. It requires some effort and patience. Make sure the ball and case back are clean. No choice of color but I got blue.
