AA AA0347 Magentic P Plates, White, 1 pair

I bought these AA magnetic P plates after passing my driving test, as I became anxious when it came to driving alone and I wanted to signal to other drivers that I was still gaining confidence on the road. I wanted something that would stay securely in place without damaging my car. The plates are a good size and the magnetic backing covers the entire plate rather than just a few strips, which is great for ensuring they stay in place. The green 'P' is bold and easy to spot. These plates stick very well to the car and don’t budge. They’re easy to remove without leaving marks or residue on the paintwork. After weeks of use, they held up well through different weather conditions. No fading or peeling, and they don’t curl at the edges like some cheaper ones do. For the price, these are a solid choice. They offer a hassle-free way to display P plates without worrying about adhesive stickers ruining the paintwork. I’d say they’re well worth it compared to cheaper alternatives that might not last as long.

These are great. I've witnessed two separate older family members in the past use P plates on their vehicles with pretty awful results, so I was glad to find these. One of them bought the sticker type, and put one on wrong so it was deformed and then complained when they finally removed it that it had left residue on the car. The other bought something similar to this one, only non-magnetised, and then used those small powerful magnets to hold it in place, which saw no end of mockery for the poor dear. Happy to have found these ones anyway. Absolutely no fuss with it, magnetised back just slap on your car and away you go, they feel really well made and high quality, which you wouldn't expect at a glance from the price. You get two in a pack, they take less than 30 seconds to apply and position, and won't come off the car again until you (or someone else, sadly for me) removes it. Storms, heavy rain, car washes, you name it, the plates won't budge until someone makes them. Can't recommend them enough. I doubt there's a better alternative on the market anywhere, to be honest.

The front magnetic P-plate blew off over the bonnet as soon as I hit 50mph, so it only lasted until about a mile from home. It was on the sloping, slightly curved bonnet. The back one was on a flat vertical area at the back of the car. I had to use scissors to cut off almost an inch top and bottom so there was no overhang. It is still fine, several weeks later (two different cars). I don't know whether the front one would have stayed if I had cut off strips top and bottom to reduce the curvature, and left it longer to acclimatise before driving. Either way, I reckon the rear location is the more important one from the point of view of other drivers. Quality: good Visibility: fine Fit: easy cut to size (illegal to do that with L-plates though) Ease of removal: magnificent!

I purchased these for my son as he has not long passed his test. They arrived quickly and I was pleased to see they were completely magnetic. I thought they would have magnetic strips on the back of them. He put them on his car and they attach well. They are much superior to the ones I bought from the well known motor shop beginning with H and ending in S, they were very expensive and you had to cut the magnetic strips and stick them on the plates yourself. Absolute rubbish and they did not last long at all. He put them on and when he got home one of them had blown off, just leaving one magnetic strip on his car and the other one fell to bits when he parked in his space. I would definitely recommend these, they were a great price and free postage. 18 August 2014. Since writing this review the plate on the bonnet has flown off. The first time I managed to rescue it and put it back on but not long after it flew off again and was lost so he now only has one for the boot.

Great value for money and sticks perfectly

Very sturdy, lasted in all weathers.

Completely useless, don't stick, they flew off the car. Magnetic plates are not very magnetic. Don't buy it.
