Good multi tool for more serious work
Im a fan of multi tools. I like a swiss army knife for daily problems but the leatherman is a good piece of kit. Got it for work where it does just fine but it has excelled outdoors. Went on a hunting trip recently where a friend forgot their butchering kit so we broke down a whole red deer with the thing. The saw managed the ribs just fine and the quartering was no issue for the knife. Incredibly sharp blade that really holds its edge. Only noteworthy issue is it is a bit open to corrosion. Perhaps consider getting it powder coated. Great bit of kit. Likely can fix most unexpected problems.

Love the black but........
I have a few leatherman tools and for me the rebar is my favourite. Some people don't like the fact that there are no tools accessible without opening up the tool. I personally like that all the tools are enclosed within the handles of the tool, because it results in a nice sized tool that does not look threatening when pulled out in front of people and feels nice in the hand. It has a nice selection of tools but has no scissors which may put some people off, I personally am not bothered by this. I bought my first Rebar about 6 years ago but it was stolen from me. I paid about £35 for it, however that was for a tool with adamaged box. I have kept an eye on leatherman tools over the last few years and am quite shocked at how expensive they have become, a Squirt is currently listed on Amazon for £49.99. When it came to replacing my Rebar I was reluctant to pay £80 up for a new, so I decided to take the plunge when I saw this at £63. I am pleased that I have a new Rebar, but was unsure at first about the black colour as my last one was a shiny stainless steel one. Now I really like the black think it's better looking than the stainless steel one, my only problem is now I don't want to scratch it. My last Rebar was carried on me most days, including to work on building sites with me, so I have a real dilemma, do I use it and get it scratched, or do I just take it out on the odd occasion. I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm keeping it, but I think that is a question you should ask yourself before buying it, hope this helps make up your mind

Excellent bit of kit
This is not my first Leatherman tool, but like the others it is beautifully made and the various functions work well. It is small and light enough to fit in the glovebox of my car. Overall, an excellent bit of kit

My favourite Leatherman
I have bought quite a number of different Leatherman tools over the years, from the original Super Tool to the Micra, and I think the Rebar is my favourite - not too big, not too small, and a nearly perfect tool set. The only tool I don't have much use for is the serrated blade - a pair of scissors would be better. All the tools lock, including the blades, which concerns some people in relation to UK knife law. Personally, I think a lock mechanism is an essential safety feature on a tool which will be used hard in working situations - just make sure you have a legitimate reason to be carrying it.I have Rebars in both stainless and black. As with all Leatherman tools, they are very solidly built and should last a lifetime unless you abuse them. Two points specifically about the black version. As other reviewers have noted, it comes with some sort of greasy coating which will turn your hands black - I recommend giving it a thorough wipe with a degreasing agent such as lighter fluid before use. And this may only apply to the one that I got, but the black Rebar is the only Leatherman I've ever got which didn't have a perfectly sharp knife blade right out of the box - the grind on mine was a bit uneven and rolled to one side. This is easily fixed if you know how to sharpen knives, but I've docked a star for that.

Lovely tool to care with you
Great value and quality for the money, lovely size and good choice of blades and other tools. Nice looking, sharp and not too heavy to care around. This was a replacement for my old one that I misplaced somewhere after over 20yrs of use and I’m sure this one will last just as long as well.

It is what it is
Multitools, which one to get?Easy, this one! (Unless you NEED scissors). It's got the features I need, and that's why I chose it.All good quality bits, very well put together, and no wobbly, flimsy bits.Price compared to other models from leatherman? Good. It has the same is features, can even be upgraded with accessories (like a bit kit) to make it even more useful.I've been after a leatherman for years, and due to a bonus, could. I could have gone more expensive, but didn't need to.The quality is there, and anything pushed past its ability will break, it's down to how you use it. If you use this instead of a bigger tool, then it will break.Enjoy. I am.
