This is an AMAZIING piece of kit. Don't bother with cheaper models, been there, done that, sent them back, got a refund.
I have ordered several different microscopes al costing less than this one and have been extremely disappointed by them (and sending them back). But this one has made up for my previous bad experiences and I highly recommend that it be one you consider rather than cheaper ones that I guarantee you'll deem as false economy if you're wanting to see red blood cells and similar finer details . This microscope has been a great investment, promising 1000X magnification that is crystal clear, Do not be fooled by cheaper ones that offer that level of magnification and more, I have tried ALL of the models costing less than this gem promising 900X + magnification and have been appalled by the terrible quality of lenses used. The 360 swivel viewer is so useful, meaning that my son can also view specimens without disturbing them. This is one fine piece of kit that I will be keeping and enjoying, Beautiful metal microscope, as sturdy as it is great at what you've paid £85 to do. Would highly recommend.

Good microscope for a hobbyist or student. Great quality. Easy to use. Brilliant product for the price that you pay.

Nice microscope, but there are even better deals.
The AmScope M150 is a good microscope. After having had a chance to use it for a while and compare it with others (like the Swift SW150 and the Apex Practitioner) I would suggest spending a few more bucks and getting one with a few more features - like an proper condenser with aperture. The Apex Practitioner is somewhere around the £120 mark and has both these features, which can give you better control over your final image. The M150 (and the SW150) have a totally useless rotating plastic disk that does absolutely nothing - you can ignore it when it comes to improving image quality. So you might as well spend a bit more and get a condenser & aperture and a professonal quality mechanical stage. You might not know what these bits are at first, but you'll be glad you paid the extra in six months time!

Great Microscope for the money
I’ve previously purchased a slightly cheaper microscope that wasn’t very good.I needed to look at something and required a clear image at 400x magnification and was recommended to purchase this microscope.I’m glad I did,it provides excellent clear images that helped me identify what I needed.I just wish I’d purchased this from the start rather than wasting money on cheaper one first.

Perfect scope for young students exploring the world around them.
Great microscope for middle-and-high-school students. Clear picture quality and sturdy metal construction. Worth paying a little extra for this rather than some plastic junk. The only improvement would be an incidental light for non-translucent samples, but you will easily get by with a desk lamp.

Saved my koi.
Great microscope. Had koi flashing. This picked up some nasties that I had to rid my fish of. Done exactly what I needed it to. Went for an entry level model so it’s real easy to use.

Incomplete packaging?
Hi, I received my microscope, but the polystyrene protection 'box', didn't have a covering cardboard box, nor was there an instructional manual. Is that usual?
