what is the minimum amount of water you can boil?

I can confirm that there is no set minimum amount of water. However, we would advise that at least an inch of water at the base would be sufficient.

It says the inner body is all stainless steel but is the inside of the lid and the spout plastic? Also is the element concealed?

The element is concealed. I cannot remeber whether the spout and lid were plastic as the kettle did not last long. We threw it out when it failed to turn off once boiled. Living in a very hard water area we kept the inside scrutably clean of lime but the kettle still failed.

Does this kettle come with scale filter at the spout?

I cannot remember. We stopped using it after a short time as it was too slow at boiling the water - we got a really cheap kettle that did the same amount of water in 3/4 the time of this one. It was alright at keeping the water warm once it had boiled but not as good as a stand alone flask.

How do you know how much water is in the kettle? It would be a chore to have to remove the lid each time before boiling just to check.

yup that's one of the main problems but anyway you will fully fill it then boil it for maximum efficiency. keeps water fairly hot after 2 hours just enuf for tea even if you have to boil it again it's very hot so it saves money if you use it alot.
