Really nice automatic for a price of a dinner (and don't worry if you have wrist-size concerns!)
This watch looks as good as in the pictures. The colors are almost the same and it looks quite awesome. Dial is easy to read and the trilingual date is also a great thing. The materials are classy for a "casual wear" watch. (as expected from Seiko though...)The glass back is a really nice thing to stare at, if you are interested in the watch's movement. The strap seems to be good too, though I usually wear leather straps, but this nylon strap fits the body of the watch well, and its color is the best choice for this dial. I assume it would look quite strange with a leather strap in this colour, so don't worry about it.The lenght of the strap was my biggest concern until I opened the box. I have a thick wrist (approx. 19 cm's) and was not sure if it will fit me. Don't worry if you are a bit more robust than average - I can use the 3rd or 4th hole on the strap without squeezing the blood out of my veins. Strap lenght is about 20 cm's.The diameter of the body is smaller than today's average, it is 3.6 cm's. As I am a bit oversized, I am usually wearing watches with 4cm+ diameter, so I also had concerns that the watch would look like a ladies' timepiece on me. It doesn't.The Seiko 5 movement is okay, but needs bi-weekly time adjustments. Anyway, just don't compare a GBP 45 movement to an IWC. At this category it is quite all right. Automatic watches keep barely keep time for long periods. The power reserve makes it tick for more than 30 hours, so if someday you'd like to wear another watch you don't have to worry that it will stop in the meanwhile. All in all: go for it, it's a good bargain for this price, especially if you're new to automatic watches.(I have made a macro of the back of this watch, looks interesting)

The SNK range is hyped for a reason...
This is the 19th watch in my collection, and it's rapidly become one of my favourites. I've been thinking about getting an SNK80x for a while, and when I saw it listed at this price I knew what I was spending my birthday money on! I went for the slightly more expensive shipping, expecting it to still take about a week, but it successfully made it from Indiana to the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland, in under two days! Well done, UPS.I've had it for 12 days now and I've been really happy with the accuracy. I have several automatics (and this is my third Seiko 5), so I know the score on that front, and this one has only gained about 15 seconds since I got it. Good enough for me.The strap is... OK. But my plan was always to put a leather strap on it, so I bought an 18mm WOCCI Vintage Leather one from Amazon, which you can see in one of my pictures (hope that's OK to do that here). They are a perfect match.Overall I am delighted with this watch. The 37mm size is perfect for my wrists, and the legibility is great, even without my glasses on.Thoroughly recommended.EDIT: I've had this watch for 4 weeks. I'm delighted to report that it is extremely accurate - I haven't had to adjust it since I first set it. I am surprised and very happy about that!

A Great Seiko As Usual
As usual for Seiko. a great watch for the price. Seiko are always well made and this is no exception. Just the right size for my wrist and frankly I can't understand the modern trend in supersize gents' wristwatches. I've read some of the 1 star comments too. I don't know where some of these buyers are coming from. For example, some of them don't seem to understand what an automatic mechanical watch is. Automatics have to be worn daily or in the case of most Seiko watches waved from side to side for half a minute or so to keep the watch wound if you don't like wearing a watch except when out and about. Mechanical watches are not as accurate as quartz watches as their 'beat' isn't nearly as rapid as a quartz crystal! If you just want accuracy, buy a £5 'cheapo'. The advantage of an automatic is of course that you won't have to trust the competence of a high street jeweller to change the battery without digging a furrow in the back plate! As for the glass; it is glass - not plastic as one reviewer tries to claim. And some of the most famous and very expensive mechanical watches are automatics of course, and even if they're certified chronometers, have a look at what their daily accuracy is actually guaranteed to. You'll be surprised!

Seiko OK
Chose this item because I live in a rural area and I'm fed up with the journey to have a replacement battery fitted to a watch. This Seiko goes back in time to the days of the self-winding mechanism powered by movements of the arm or rotation of the wrist which keep the mainspring under constant tension. Of course if you put it aside for a couple of days it will stop; equally it will restart by means of a few gentle swings, the snag being the need to reset--in this case, time, day and date settings are required and the day dial is bi-lingual so you have to choose English or Spanish. The watch is quite big in itself but less so than many a fashion accessory and the ballistic nylon strap passes through metal loops and is leather reinforced round the holes; even so it is lighter in wear than many a metal bracelet. It can be read from very shallow angles and the 'Lumibrite' feature makes it easy to see in poor light. Running it for a week against my radio-controlled master clock shows only a few seconds variance--surprisingly good for a mechanical watch of this price. The watch came in a Seiko box with information in English and Spanish; had an internal Seiko price tag of $185 dollars so had probably been packaged originally for the USA market; there's a year's warranty extended to three if you live in California. It's still good value at the English price of £46 especially if you have a beefy wrist.
