Brilliant, easy to use and a great space saver on the freezer

This is an excellent product that allows for storing food and occasionally clothes for longer term storage. Works well for freezing as well as for dried food. Bought it for Sous Vide and it works well for that too, but have found ourselves using it for many other things instead! The only downside is you need to use their bags but for now they are easily obtainable and easy to use.

I had been toying with the idea of getting one of these for a long time and I am glad that I did. Now and again I feel the call of the kitchen and make batches of curries, pasta creations, cottage pie (veggie),miso soup, etc. I always did freeze things as I have grandiose ideas of portion control and tend to accidentally cater for about 10 people, rather than the two of us. Anyhow, it is a doddle to use and has controls for how much vacuum (so it does not crush delicate foods), sealing, and a button that allows it to suck the air out and seal, all on its own. There is a small reservoir that prevents liquid being sucked into its “working bits”. There certainly are much cheaper sealers, but we were working on the principle that you buy a Rolls Royce far less often than a Lada. Three months in, it is performing perfectly. HOWEVER mine came with a round Food Saver container, which seemed an excellent idea for gallons of soup or whatever,,,,,, beware of these containers!!! The one that came with it had lost its vacuum after 10 minutes. I bought three others as I liked the idea and assumed that the original container was just a rogue one; they all had exactly the same problem. There is absolutely no point in producing vacuum containers that won’t retain a vacuum. I did complain, but was told that nobody else had complained about the containers, but when I looked at the reviews, practically everybody had the same problem! So the machine is excellent, the “vacuum containers” are not fit for purpose. Mine will probably finish up as very expensive flower pots.

Fantastic.Should have bought one years ago !

bought this Foodsaver Food Vacuum Sealer Machine as a Christmas present for my husband, and unfortunately it was a big disappointment. When we tried to use it to prepare our Christmas lunch, the vacuum function didn’t work at all. For a product at this price point, especially from a well-known brand, I expected it to work straight out of the box. Very frustrating, particularly as it let us down at the exact moment we needed it. Sadly, not the experience I was hoping for.

I've toyed with the idea of buying a vacuum sealer for a number of years but finally decided to take the plunge with the Foodsaver FFS005. On inspection there was a missing component but that didn't affect the primary function. I am pleased to say that my expectations have been exceeded. It has been very easy to use and has performed efficiently. I now am able to take advantage of cut-price supermarket offers as I am able to freeze and then vacuum seal. The biggest surprise was with the leftovers. Instead of having to eat the same food for a few days, being able to vacuum seal and store the leftovers for a later date has made cooking more adventurous. Also, cheese can be kept for a much longer period without having to worry about waste. Overall, I would happily recommend the Foodsaver FFS005 to anyone considering vacuum sealing for the first time. It is simple to use, easy to store and has a useful range of accessories, particularly the leftover containers.

Porządna zgrzewarka, dobrze wyciąga potwierze i zhrzewa, nie zaciąga płynu jak te tansze

Geweldig apparaat ziet erg goed en mooi uit en nog belangrijker het werkt uitstekend. Nog maar net in gebruikt dus over de duurzaamheid kunnen we nog niets schrijven. Heel fijn dat er een knop opzit waarmee je manueel kan vacumeren en dat werkt heel goed. We hebben twee croissants op de manuele stand gevacumeerd en ook vier harde broodjes. De laatste was het eerste probeersel en daar waren we nog iets te voorzichtig mee. De machine heeft drie automatische standen die we nog moeten gebruiken. Het seslen gaat werkelijk fantastisch een mooie seal over de hele lengte die volledig dicht is. Met deze machine is ook een beker meegeleverd en rollen en vacuum zakken. Iets groter dan onze vorige machine en ook wat meer lawaai maar het resultaat zorgt ervoor dat we dit er maar voor lief bijnemen. En wat zeker het vermelden waard is de machine sluit heel makkelijk! Bij mijn vorige aankoop moest mijn man het apparaat sluiten want mj lukte het niet. Deze machine heb ik o die reden terug gestuurd. Bij de Foodsaver gebruik je de handel aan de rechterkant. Hiermee wordt het apparaat gesloten om rechtop te plaatsen en bij de volgende stap wordt het deksel gesloten en vergrendeld en de spanning ingeschakeld. Dit gaat super makkelijk! Totaal geen spijt van deze aankoop wel iets duurder maar op alle fronten het geld meer dan waard.
