Good Value for the money and durable
After reading several reviews I decided to trust an American made product. Glad I did.The instructions were adequate and it appears to be made of quality materials that should stand up. Very sturdy unit. Arrived on time with no parts missing. These devices are typically mounted on the rear of ATVs however since my UTV has a front 2" receiver hitch, I decided to mount it on the front. This solved a few problems. First of all, the power cord easily reaches my plug in point. Next I was able to rig an extension to the gate lever using a small furring strip so I can open/close the gate from my cab without having to jump in/out or waste a lot of product. Note on pics the front window on my Polaris Ranger flips fully open to allow this. By having everything in front of me I can also monitor to be certain it is functioning properly. I also added temporary deflectors using shipping cardboard since I didn't want a full 40' of broadcast. I will probably rig a permanent solution for this later. Spreading fertilizer it easily spread 100# in 10 minutes and as long as its dry with no lumps it flowed well with no hang ups. Damp or lumpy material will give you problems as there is no agitator in the hopper. Figuring proper speed and gate percent opening is by trial and error but they do provide a calculation sheet for this. The gate lever is a little cheesy but worked as advertised. I would think American engineers could come up with an improvement. The cover is a bit difficult to put on but should be easier over time. Better than having it too loose! Overall very happy with purchase and I recommend it to others. I expect with proper care it should hold up for many years.

Good quality
This is a very easy to use and very simple setup. Holds about 50lbs of seed without any issues. The cord is long enough to reach the 12v plug on my Can-Am Outlander 650. It is a good solid piece of equipment with just a couple personal issues not necessarily product issues. My 3 issues with this product: 1. There is no agitator in the hopper. This caused some issues with feeding. I had to get off the 4 wheeler and tap the bottom to get it to feed again. 2. The issue I had was more than likely related to using an ATV vs a UTV. The mount sticks out about 10”-12” too far. I will just cut the tube and drill a new hole. This did end up dragging the ground but did not cause any damages. 3. The lever to open and close the hopper is really short. Even on an ATV it’s a bit of a stretch this will probably be corrected by cutting the hitch tube down. I’d imagine on a UTV you would have to put a kid in the back or make a rod to reach it. It does come with some rings with set screws to set the opening. There are no numbers or size indicators it’s just trial and error.

Great product. Took 15 min to assemble.
I was really worried about this as some of the reviews had it like a mechanic had trouble. My kid could put this together. Absolute simple install, works great. Everyone knows this is for dry feed/seed/salt. Nothing clumping would ever come out of a gravity fed broadcaster. Overall great product. If I were to make this I would make several mounting holes on the tubes so you can pic where you want to mount this as it does stick out a little too far but not a big deal. But just a suggestion have multiple mounting sites on both tubes for both height and depth settings.

Doesnt work very well
Our first time out to spread seed, the arm that adjust the opening fell off into the spreader fins and broke all of them off. Would be nice to add a clip so the lever cant just fall off. Also, it throws as much seed forward as it does backwards and it just falls to the ground. No way you could get 30ft spread on this thing. More like 8 or 10ft at most. Not many options out there. Have low expectations if you buy this product.

It works, but be warned.
I’ve used this 3 times to salt about 1/4 mile of HOA road. Pros: it works, but it is only for people willing to overlook some things. The salt shield is surprisingly well positioned and effective keeping the salt out the undercarriage of my ranger. Hopper removes from the tube frame hitch connector which is well built for easier storage. Power cord was long enough for my standard cab ranger run through my soft doors that leave plenty of gap. I was expecting batt terminal ends but it is a cigarette plug maybe I just missed that, but I’ll make it a battery quick plug. The spread pattern works pretty well for our HOA road, it throws salt a little heavier and farther to the right which makes sense. Cons: other reviews are accurate the hopper is not particularly solid if completely full of salt it will sag and contact the spinning spreader. A strap mostly fixes that. No agitator, you must pour the salt in slowly and ensure there are no clumps, it will stop flow. I put in one 40 lb bag at a time carefully and it works well. I’ve seen others have added agitation. The lever controlling the hopper opening is a true engineering failure, but I can’t reach it from the ranger cab anyway, and it is easily manipulated by had directly on the mechanism. I plan to remove the arm controlling the opening entirely Some reviews said it wore out in a year, they must have left salt sit in it. I rinse it down with a flower water can after use and it cleans up nicely. I will update later but I think with proper cleaning it could last a few years. Support from Buyers the manufacturer seems non existent. I emailed them pre purchase about reviews saying they never responded to parts requests, and they in fact never responded. I can fab parts if needed so ordered it. IMO if you are handy w modifications and need this for light duty not in a hurry use it is worth the price, but consider it a starter kit not plug and play. if you need any level of heavy use to pour salt and go and have no desire to make mods, do not buy this.

While the hitch mount and support are sturdy enough for support, the design of the hopper is such that only dry, free-flowing materials will (in theory) work with this spreader. Any moisture or clumping brings distribution to an immediate halt as there's nothing in the hopper itself to encourage the flow of material, even with the hopper door open to its widest. Despite the sturdiness of the support, the arm that opens and adjusts the hopper door is flimsy and ineffective. The lower collar doesn't attach adequately to stay on the arm, and the adjustable collars to set the door opening cannot be placed on each side of the support, so therefore they do not function as intended to regulate material flow. The pin system that allows for the removal of the hopper from the hitch support structure works well. However, the motor that operates the distribution spin plate is mounted on the bottom of the hopper itself with nothing to protect it. Not a well-thought design at all.

Does not work great for salt or any big seed. Needs and agitator to work properly so factor in an extra 100$ for that. The new owner cable is to short my kubota rtv x900 and needs modification and the flow adjustment is to far away a kit to extended it should be available
