If you bake a lot, or even just some, you will LOVE these things. They come in various sizes and shapes. You decide which you need. But they are the "bomb"! If you are making home made pizza, you know that it's a real pain to find a surface that the dough will not stick so much that you ruin the thing before you ever get into the oven! With a Silpat, you don't put anything on it (e.g. oil; flour; etc.) ever. You place your pizza dough right on the Silpat, put your toppings on, then slide the pizza into the oven ON the Silpat! It won't burn, it won't stick, it won't break down by using it "as it was designed to be used". If you have flat bread you are making and don't want to oil or prepare a pan that will go in the oven and to which the dough will not stick, a Silpat is the answer. When you remove whatever you baked from the Silpat, you just use mild soap and water to wipe it down...nothing sticks to it. So there is no need to ever thing you will use something abrasive - and you should not consider doing that. My recommendation is to get more than 1, perhaps a couple of different shapes for things you bake. The uses are endless.

Heat distribution is even and consistent, and cleanup is simple—just rinse and air dry. They perform reliably at high oven temps without warping or sticking. Usage Notes: They’re ideal for anyone looking to eliminate parchment or foil. That said, durability hinges entirely on conscious use: sharp objects are a no-go. Even steel turners or light knife contact will damage the surface. At 2 mm thick, they offer solid grip and insulation, but no cut resistance. Watch the Sizing: One recurring issue is mat-to-pan mismatch. Several half-sheet variants appear standard but don’t fit flush—some curl onto the rim or sit within the burr edge of the sheet pan. Silpat doesn’t clearly differentiate between US and European sizing, so measure your pans before purchase to avoid this. Bottom Line: Exceptional for heat consistency, cleanup, and general kitchen use—just avoid sharp tools and verify sizing. Once you do, it’s likely you’ll end up owning several. They are not necessarily cheap, but I expect several hundred uses per mat at minimum before I see noticeable wear.

Absolutely worth it! I run a small business and can't do without these. They lasted without sticking about 18months with repeated use. Very easy to clean and bake on them all day and clean them at the end of the day. I try to catch them on sale because they are expensive. My Pound Cake Cookies are delicate and need a flexible cookie mate, this is perfect!

These babies are gold – both in color and effectiveness! Nothing sticks to them! Make it easy to clean and makes baking cookies. A simple task as scraping is no longer a requirement. Have purchased them numerous times without disappointment. Happy baking!

Love this mat Keeps the sheet pan 100% clean and looking new This is what real pastry chefs and bakers use in Paris so I wanted to have the real thing! Easy to hand wash/rinse and air dry. Only thing I failed to do was measure my sheet pans. When the Silpat arrived, it was too large for my big box store sheet pans. So I actually replaced them with some from amazon that are the correct size for my Silpat. Very happy with my purchase!
