Great beginner German book
I really like this introduction to German. It’s set out beautifully with lots of extra information around the language and not just vocabulary and grammar lessons. The chapters are straightforward and progress in difficulty as you move through the book. I’m still at beginner stage but enjoying this no pressure approach to learning at my own pace.

A very good textbook to start learning the German language.
Our U3A (University of the Third Age) Beginning German class used this textbook during our first year and in my opinion it is certainly one of the best books available to start your learning of what can be a challenging language. There are 5 units each one followed by exercises. Increasing vocabulary and grammar are introduced with each unit via dialogues in various situations a traveller in Germany might be likely to find themselves in. Text boxes labelled 'Gut zu Wissen' (Good to know) and 'Denk Daran' (Remember) appear throughout with helpful hints.A couple of points that could make the book even better:1. Have the vocabulary table immediately after the relevant dialogue to make it easier to refer to.2. Increase the boldness of the font of the general text.Well worth considering as your first textbook to start learning German. Lingo Mastery have done a very good job.

Useful Tool
This book is great to use alongside other things such as DuoLingo. Gives you a much better understanding of the actual grammar.

Useful resource, Cringe Spam emails when accessing audio files
I would like to say I like this book as a resource, and it has helped support my learning. However, this has gone from a solid 4-5 star review to a 3 star review based on my experience when I went to download the accompanying audio files. To do this you have to sign up with your email and your first name for them to send you the audio files to download. Fair enough, they may want to tack who they are sending audio files to etc. etc. I then received an email containing the “downloadable” audio files which were simply unlisted YouTube videos (this could easily be linked in the front of the book) and then followed emails part 1 and 2 of 5 from “Oscar Johanson”. I did not sign up for these continuing emails and they are written like an MLM pitch, constantly referring to the “secret tip to learn languages” which “Oscar” will fully reveal in part 5.It does not sound like much but without copying the emails here it is hard to describe how cringey, desperate and unprofessional these emails come across. A pointless practice which seems to be desperate to sell the next thing to you.In all buy the book to support your learning, the audio files will help but you will have to put up with unsolicited follow up emails written like someone who learnt to write from MLM email chains and Tik Tok.

Excellent book for practice exercises and reviewing grammar rules. Audio files are very helpful too for practice pronunciation.

Comprehensive!
Bought this a little while ago, but have only recently started to use it. Detailed explanations and extensive use of vocabulary, combined with on-line audio tracks, make this a useful book for anyone starting on their journey to learn the German language.
