Oh, my goodness! How did I ever live without this proofer? I looked at this proofer for months before taking the leap and bought it. If you're doing the same, I urge you to just take the plunge and order it!I do a lot of baking, especially breads. I keep my sourdough starter in this proofer all the time, and it's so happy! And, of course, I use it for proofing my bread doughs. Dough temperature is as important to the process as any ingredient, I think, and I love that I can adjust the temperature to my needs, as well as the bread's needs. For example, I can bump the temperature up a degree or two, to speed up proofing, if I'm in a hurry, or drop the temperature if I want a slower fermentation for more complex flavor.My results are so much more consistent, with this proofer. I can adjust the temperature for each individual recipe, if I wish. This proofer may seem like an expensive luxury, but it sure has made a huge difference in my baking, and in my enjoyment of baking. It's surprisingly well designed and useful. I've never used it to make yogurt or as a slow cooker, and I probably never will. But it's worth every penny, just for my breads.I love that it folds so flat for storage, although I will probably never take it off my kitchen counter, because it's in use all the time!

Before I bought one of these nine months ago, proofing time for my sourdough bread was all over the place due to variations in temperatures in our home. With this, you can set the temperature you want so proofing time is consistently the same, which means you no longer have to spend valuable time checking and waiting for the dough to be ready. Whoever designed this is a genius! It's well made and very easy and quick to set up and put away. It's also very compact; I keep it in the box it arrived in which is 16.5" x 20" x 4" deep. I highly recommend!

We've been making bread for a long time, and this proofer was a game changer.The Proofer arrived very securely packed. Included were very complete instructions, an offer to register and get three years warranty coverage, and a very nice recipe book. I unpacked the Proofer, read the manual and per the instructions, set it up for bread making, which was so easy I felt like I must have missed something, and we started the bread making process right then and there to see how the Proofer would do.Let me say that the bread that came out of the oven was the best we'd ever made. All we could say was; WOW! it was a new and very enjoyable experience not to have to cover the bread pans with plastic wrap, and letting the water in the tray provide humidity instead, which is much better for the bread dough.To be able to look through the window on top of the Proofer to see the dough rising was a new and great experience, which also made it much easier to know when to take it out of the Proofer, and put it in the oven.Set up, operation, and take down were very very simple and easy. This is a very quality built appliance, and is a must-have for our bread making. The engineering and thought that went into this Proofer is remarkable and commendable, and very much appreciated.I've read some reviews that mentioned the cost, inferring it was a bit expensive. Our feeling is that it is worth every penny and more. As stated before, this is a fine, high quality appliance and meets the highest standards of quality build, spot-on performance, and operational ease, and great results.In short; we absolutely love this Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker, and are looking forward to trying some of it's other culinary capabilities. My bread dough has never had it so good! I bake whole grain and gluten free loaves and was having a devil of a time with my sourdough loaves rising on the counter or in the oven…couldn’t seem to find that happy spot. With this proofed, not only has proofing time been significantly reduced but the rise is even and consistent every time. It’s a simple box product but the ability to set the temp and adjust based on your home conditions or type of loaf you are baking has made all the difference for me. I initially didn’t want to pay that much but as a regular baker, I am now so glad I did! I haven’t tried the slow-cooker function on it but my guess is if I followed the instructions the food would turn out well. It is a lightweight easy to clean device that works as described and should last a long time with a bit of care.
