We've had this for two months in our apartment kitchen. The 17x59 inch size is perfect, and the edges slope so I'm not afraid I'll trip on it. Part of the reason I chose this was so our younger cat wouldn't be attracted to it like the woven mat we used to have.Well, she likes it. It is nice and squishy underfoot. When she's laying there she sometimes likes to knead, and the claws come out. You can see her work pretty clearly in this picture. It's still functional, butkinda pockmarked now.For thirty dollars, it's checking the boxes I wanted. Just be aware this will probably happen if you've got any pets with claws.

The mats came in as advertised. They are easy to lay out, soft, and comfortable. I do wish the cushion was a bit thicker as I can imagine this wearing down quickly, but it is nice for the price. An extra bonus is the black cleans very well and the dirt doesn't stand out.
