Personalized - Custom American White Oak Bourbon Aging Barrel - Oak Barrel Aged (2 Liters, Black Hoops)

Started the curing process, slight leak in 1 place so far but it's expected. Really nice construction, love the etching - just the way we wanted it! Whether for decoration or barrel aging some spirits this is a really cool set-up and very well made. BTW, took 4 days from order to delivery-thx! UPDATE: 48 hrs later and no leaks. Moved indoors & outdoors x 2 days to cycle the temps.

I have followed the instructions to the letter, after a month it continues to leak, I bought two more barrels that stopped leaking after two days, the first one I buy no, the purchase is an adventure, some will work, others will not. The barrel wax he recommends placing only works at x temperature, melts and drips again. Do not get it wet on the outside, that oxidizes the metal bands, it is a mistake that should not be recommended. The engraving is lost when wet on the outside, do not do anything to the engraving because the color will fade and darken its surroundings. UPDATE: I made a claim and they sent me a new one, it works perfectly, no leak.

Followed the instructions to seal the barrel and it worked flawlessly. After 2 days the barrel stopped leaking and is completely sealed. Getting ready to make my first batch of old fashioned. You need make sure the exterior also prepped correctly and dried off. The barrel rings will bleed a little if you don't dry it completely. Overall very happy.

Very nice only problem was the face end split. Doesn't leak so it's all good.

Very timely delivery of a neat 2 liter Barrel. Light finish on exterior makes it look good. I know some say wood needs to breath but I like the finished look. Well made, instructions to seal and holds a full 2 liters! Waiting to see how it improves my product. No leaks! Good spigot. I have seen others with more personalization line options with different size fonts. When I ordered I could not get the smaller detailed lines to submit. Other than that comparison, this is a top quality lil barrel. I will be ordering others for gifts.

First, I'm not a beginner at this. I followed the directions meticulously with the filling of water, rinsing the outside, switching to hot water, and when I felt like it was adequately swollen I put in about $130+ worth of whiskey and other liquors for my old-fashioned cocktail. It leaks and drips, and if the spigot is not exactly in the right place, it will dribble out making a huge mess. I have now started leaving it resting on a tray with a lip so if it leaks significant amounts, I can drain it back into the barrel. Also, the black bands fade horribly during the initial process of keeping it wet and stain the outside of the barrel. Barrel $65, Whiskey, Gran Mariner, bitters, maple syrup, etc. $130+. Over 1 week soaking, rinsing, preparing, then losing 1/4 to 1/3 of contents before you finally give up and drain it up into bottles. This is my third barrel, and about my seventh batch of aging whiskey or tequila products and I have never had this much of a problem before. I would say this is either a bad barrel, or just an overall bad company. I am unable to give that answer at this time. After multiple attempts to contact this seller through Amazon resources, I have yet to have any response from the seller.

Showed up exactly as ordered - My dad will love this for his bar. I bought this as a custom decorative piece for his countertop, I wouldn't expect to realistically age whiskey in this barrel, since it's not been charred. I do think you could probably serve drinks at a party with it.

So, the barrel is very cute and well built. It's a really cool gift. The only thing that disappointed me and made me crazy at the same time, is that they clearly made a crooked hole for the cork. It is definitely decentralized from the barrel. So when looking at the barrel from the front you can see. This may have been purposeful, so as not to make the hole between the junction of the woods. But in this case, the writing on the wood and the installation of the faucet should be done later, so that everything is aligned. There was also a defect, a kind of scratch on the top, close to the hole. But it's pretty cool! I bought this one as a gift for a friend and in the future I will buy one for myself too.
