What I should have bought the FIRST time...
This was not the first mattress I bought for camping in my Subaru Outback. The first one I bought was one of those blow-up air mattress types and it was horrible. Oh, it was fine at 4" thickness...until a few short hours later it was dang near flat. I returned that sucker and after researching further and reading many others comments wound up buying this dual-type foam mattress. I am literally a "Happy Camper" now! When I first opened this tri-folding mattress from the boxes and wrappers, ya, it was < 3" thick, as expected. (Pic #1). While waiting for it to expand to its full thickness I unzipped a portion of one end to inspect the construction. Just as advertised with 1" blue memory + 3" yellow foam (Pic #2). After leaving it alone for several days the mattress expanded to its advertised thickness of 4" (Pic #3). Everyone just needs to be patient at the beginning.I really like the fact that it's tri-fold because it's light and easy to maneuver. Each section is 25" X 25" and stacks neatly together when not in use and is 12" tall overall.I then took it out to my Outback to check the fit making sure I had taken my measurements correctly. I folded down both rear seats, put a fitted flannel sheet around it, then laid it on in there. Fits like a glove at 75" long X 25" wide X 4" deep (Pic #4). Then put my sleeping bag on it and crawled on in for a dry run (Pic #5).I'm 6-ft tall and must say that it does, in fact, feel comfortable enough to keep and although I have not been out camping in it until this cold winter passes, believe that I can easily spend a few nights on the road with this setup. There are several road trips I have planned coming up and will give this mattress setup a real workout. I may come back to this review and update it later with details.Seems that this is the real deal, folks. I'm hopeful that we didn't go wrong by purchasing this well made foam mattress. C'Mon Spring time! YAY!!

Viable as a full-time bed
First of all, let's get this out of the way. I'm quite a small guy. 5'7, 135 pounds. So what works for me probably won't work for everyone. So, I moved into a new apartment with my girlfriend, for the first time in like nine years, one with two bedrooms, which is new for us. Neither of us really sleep too well with someone else in the bed, even if that someone else is a cat (we both lock them out), so we were excited to have our own rooms. She took our old bed and I, not wanting to take up a ton of space in my room, decided to buy a cheap, thin, futon with nowhere near enough cushioning to sleep on by itself, and put this on top of it. It's worked out wonderfully. It's sooooo comfortable, I sleep like a baby every night. Sometimes she comes and lays down on it and says it's more comfortable than our old bed. Which, imo, is an exaggeration. But still, it's pretty comfortable. Now, having said that, if you put this thing on a hard floor instead of on a futon like I have, or perhaps thick carpet, you WILL feel the floor through it, especially if you're significantly heavier than I am. Since a lot of people are probably buying this as a guest bed to put on the floor when people come over, I think that's worth mentioning. You could probably still sleep on it, but it won't be the amazingly comfortable experience I have every night. But with some folded up blankets underneath maybe you could get there.Another thing worth mentioning is that you CAN wash the cover. It comes with a tag that says spot clean only, but forget that! I'm not going to put a sheet on this weird sized mattress that I fold up everyday, and I'm not going to just not wash the cover. So I bit the bullet, put it in my washer on the gentle setting with cold water, and dried it in my dryer at medium heat, and it was perfectly clean and perfectly fine afterwards.

185lbs and I am able to sleep very comfortably on this single sized mattress (25”x75”)
Long version: First off, I am 6’1, 185lbs and I am able to sleep very comfortably on this single sized mattress (25”x75”). The memory phone provides plenty of support and the trifold layout allows you to move and store your sleeping mat with ease. The padding seems durable enough for indoor use or even for use in a tent when camping. The foam did have a mild scent when it was first unpackaged, but nothing too overpowering. 4 inches is plenty of memory foam to sleep comfortably on. Overall, it is a great value for a single person sleeping pad, and it is perfect for how I am currently using the pad. With that being said, if you want more space to stretch out on, or if you want to really sink in and get lost in your memory foam, you might be better off going with a 6 in memory foam pad in a twin/full size. I do not have the space to fit such a large mattress, but I know that if I can sleep well on a single size, 4 in memory foam mat, I would be extremely comfortable on a larger, thicker one as well.Short version: This sleeping pad is great and works well if you need something small and portable, but if you’ve got the space and are really looking for a great nights sleep, you are better off going with something a little bigger.

Comfy for the money
I absolutely love it. I've had it for weeks and have slept in it all but 2 nights. It's firmly soft or softly firm and nice and lengthy. I like how I have the option of letting my feet hanging off the bottom of it or not. I'm a 5'7" 165 lbs and I still have room on both sides if I am centered. I put pillows on each side just in case while I'm dead asleep, I'm not aware that I cannot roll over and they also serve to place one between my knees to alleviate hip pain. This helps tremendously with lower back support for me. In all honesty some nights I still have hip pain (but a step up in my workout on the elliptical could be irritating my it.) It is narrow but comfy for the money while I wait for a new mattress.
