Controls are bit messy and assembly relies on the small connector, which is hard to lock because the wire inside the last section spins.. So, these are the two downsides: 1. Assembly is not straight forward - the connector kept popping out, so I had to reassemble the last section a couple of times 2. Controls are a bit too sensitive and for perfectionists: it seems that the base is not strictly perpendicular to the shaft

Bright and Modern Floor Lamp with Great Light Control—but Not Perfect Longevity The Brightech Sky Flux is one of those floor lamps that really transforms a dim room. I’ve used it in my office and living room, and it easily lights an entire space that would otherwise need multiple lamps. The LED light is powerful (up to 2700 lumens) and gives you three color temperatures—warm, soft white, and daylight—which is surprisingly useful. The touch-sensitive dimmer works well and makes it easy to adjust brightness with just a tap or hold. The design is sleek and minimal, blending nicely with modern décor. Assembly is simple and tool-free, and the base feels stable enough that it doesn’t wobble, even on carpet. The head also tilts slightly, which helps direct the light where it’s needed. That said, the controls can be a bit finicky—the touch sensor sometimes needs multiple taps to respond—and a few users (myself included after a year or so) have noticed occasional flicker or dimming issues, likely from internal wear. For the price, it’s still a good value, but it may not have the long lifespan the specs promise. Bottom line: A stylish, bright, and adjustable floor lamp that performs well and looks great, but expect some quirks with the controls and potential durability concerns over time.

I bought this lamp, and also bought a similar Tenergy version: Tenergy Torchiere Dimmable LED Floor Lamp, Remote Controlled 30W (150W Equivalent) Standing Lamp with Stepless Touch Dimmer, Two-Part Trip-Proof Cable, 90° Adjustable Top, Warm White Light Here are the differences: Cons of the Brightech vs. the Tenergy: * The Brightech is TOO SHORT! I'm only 5'5" and can see the top of it from a few steps away. The Tenergy is a little taller. * The Brightech head can tilt, but not very much, while the Tenergy head tilts/rotates in any direction at up to a full 90 degrees. * The Brightech base is not very heavy, so the lamp is wobbly and unstable. The Tenergy base is significantly heavier, thus the lamp is much more stable. * The Brightech has both fewer "steps" and a narrower range, than the Tenergy, in other words: * The Tenergy can adjust both brighter and dimmer than the Brightech is capable of, and in a smoother fashion. The Tenergy has approx. 18 levels of brightness adjustment. * The Brightech has a cheap plastic LED lens with no frost/diffusion. The Tenergy has a nice GLASS lens that is frosted for better light diffusion. Pros of the Brightech vs. the Tenergy: * The Brightech has 3 color temperatures, 3000k, 4000k, and 5000k. The Tenergy is 3000k only. * The Brightech is PARTIALLY compatible with a wall-switched outlet - when you flip the wall switch on, the lamp turns on, but unfortunately it "boots" to 3000k color and full brightness - it cannot remember your last setting if you turn the wall switch off (or unplug it). The Tenergy will NOT turn on with a wall-switched outlet at all.

I love these lamps, because they provide so much bright light. As a law student, I spend a large amount of time (often throughout the night) in my apartment studying. My apartment does not have any overhead lighting and I prefer really well lit areas, I like to keep my place so bright that sometimes friends complain about it when we are just hanging out at my place. With all of that said, I have purchased a couple of these lamps because I truly love how much light they put off, but they do have issues. The first lamp I purchased, I had to return because the power/dimming "button" didn't work properly (wouldn't dim or change to the other light options). The second lamp (which I kept because my previous lamp broke and I was desperate for light) doesn't stand straight and tilts slightly to the side. It isn't terrible and the way my furniture is arranged near it helps to hide the fact that it isn't perfectly straight. The third lamp I purchased had absolutely no issues, until recently. After having the lamp for roughly six months, it has stopped working properly. Essentially, it has stopped illuminating that brilliant, bright light and now only puts off a very dull light, essentially the same as the dimmest light setting. Sometimes when I first turn it on, it illuminates that brilliant bright light, but within minutes it will dim to that very dull light. Most of the time though, it produces only that dim light as soon as I turn it on. At first, I thought it might be the power strip it was connected to going bad, but that turned out to not be the case. Then, I tried unplugging and reattaching the different parts of the lamp and it nothing changed. It's very upsetting that an $80 lamp stopped working correctly after only six months. I really hope they are able to correct all the issues with these lamps, because when they are working correctly, they are really great!
