Simple & works!

There was one of these on the house my son bought. It made it so simple to get into his house while he was away that I purchased one for a cabin we have. Now any family member can get in without worrying about having a key. It works well and makes it easier for everyone!

Got this to store a spare set of keys in the garage in case I get locked out of the house. Mounted easily and seems pretty sturdy. Instructions were easy to follow to set the combination. It's not exposed to the weather so I can't speak to that. The downsides for me is the latch cover is not attached to the base so when it's opened you have to be careful not to drop it on your foot. It just comes right out and if you don't have a good grip on it it's easy to drop. The second thing I don't like is you can't close the cover without reentering the combination and pressing down on the release button. This makes it awkward to close. All in all though, I guess it serves its purpose pretty well, even with these couple of shortcomings.

3-Stars in an attempt towards neutrality...overall, seemingly a decent product/solution, though it was NOT mounted, used or given the test of time - why? - because it did NOT work for us, specifically for these 2 reasons. First, not easy to "grasp/hold" on important areas to comfortably and thus easily OPEN and CLOSE the lockbox. Second, user actually MUST put in the code for both, OPENING and then CLOSING the lockbox. It CANNOT and WILL NOT "close/lock", unless you put in the code first, then close/lock....so the steps are, CODE in order to OPEN it up for access to whatever is inside, then once again must have CODE in order to CLOSE it up for security. Thus, not the actions we prefer to take and have since returned this product as a result.

This key lock box is easy to install, as it comes with screws to mount it. There is a rubber cover that fits over it to keep water out, with one end of the cover tightly bound to the lock box so that it does not get lost. When the box is opened, there is a small clasp on the inside cover where the key can be attached. One vendor we use commented to us that it was the best lock box he had ever seen, as the buttons are easy to depress to unlock it. While understandable, the only negative we see is that the code must be entered again in order to re-attach the cover to the lock box after you are finished using the key. This is really a very minor inconvenience and again, understandable.
