Level 1 A1.1 This book is designed for 7 to 10 yer old students to learn French. The book is more for much younger children. More like preschoolers. It has a CD which a lot of songs, which is always a great method to teach any language. But it mostly consists of very, very basic things. It's mostly songs, coloring and cutting activities. It does have some dialogues and its very colorful. When you read the description about the book (all the characters, the french culture, heroes, etc.) you expect so much more. Based on the description it sounds like the perfect book, but it's super basic. I think 7-10 year olds could be a little more challenged and they would likely find the book boring.

The book is great but please note that the CD contains only the songs, all the audio you need for this book is sold separately. The description explains what is Zig Zag, a little misleading because you are not getting all of that.
