Pool Ruler Solar Cover Reel Attachment Kit

We are working with a round pool so not an ideal situation I bought the roller for the cover used and it came with strings which I was going to try to reuse I'm very glad that I ordered these instead of doing that I may order one more kit to add an extra strap at the far end on each side and one to the opposite side of the cover with a long spring on it to help pull the cover back across but other than that it works much better than what we used to do I like it the video for installation was well done and definitely helped make the job easier

Super easy to use, instructions were clear and straight forward. It was a little tricky using it on a round pool cover but once the length of the straps were adjusted properly it was fine. Straps feel nice and strong, plastic clips are larger than I thought so they will probably hold up well. If you make a mistake and need to move one they are easy to open up and move but then you will have an additional hole in your cover. But overall really satisfied to hold my solar cover on the roller.

Delivered fast. The cover I bought was 15 by 30 (my pool is 15 by 28). It was a bit heavy but was able to carry it the 80 yards or so to my pool. The cover has 6 metal eyelets at the end to make it tougher and easy to put the reel straps through. This made installation easy and the cover reels in and out nicely. I am very happy with this purchase. I received an email today, about 5 days after arrival of the cover making sure I was satisfied. Great followup.

Worked great on my inground oval, spaced the straps about 2 feet apart on the solar cover reel and the clips were simple and seem to hold very well! Looks much better than the gorilla tape strands I had to help me get the cover started on the reel! This has made rolling up the cover a 1 person job for me

The clips look like they would work great and be easier to use than the screw in ones. Don’t be fooled. They are awful. Really hard to clip shut with hands. Had to use pliers. The clips do not stay closed! Do not purchase for above ground pools!!! Once you unroll cover and reel is across middle of pool I notice there are at least 3 unclipped. There is no way to clip them unless you get back in the pool or take the cover off completely. I’ll go back to the screw ones that I’ve used for 20 years. The company was kind enough to send a refund and also more clips.

I find it hard to believe we've had an 18ft x 36ft unground pool for over 40 years and have gone through many solar blanket attachment kits. The Pool Ruler Kit is by far the best solar kit ever for the following reasons: 1. The "clam shell" attachment to the blanket is very easy to install and maintains the same distance to edge automatically, just fold it and snap! 2. The adjustment to the straps is made at the center of the strap assembly and not at the attachment points where the reel or cover at times interferes with the buckle. An easy way to maintain the same length is to simply measure the excess strap length and keep it the same for all straps. 3. The Velcro attachment to reel is easy compared to using sheet metal screws which I've had mixed results with. 4. Support from Company is excellent! I use 10 straps to support the blanket for an 18ft reel length to lessen the load on each strap. Called the company and they quickly mailed two additional straps to supplement the eight that come with the kit at no charge. Here are a few tips that might be of help. Make a strap assembly without attaching it to reel or blanket and use it as a model just to get the feel of it., be sure it conforms to the instructions. Use a finger nail file to cut the 1 inch slot in the claim shell seems to work better than a box cutter and make the opening as large as possible to keep the strap from twisting. It all goes together very easily after the first assembly is done. I can honestly say after many years of pool experience that this is a great product and you won't be disappointed!

This reel does work well. The only complaint I have is that the velcro isn't 100% It has come undone.

Packaged arrived on time and intact but there were no instructions. I managed to figure it out without too much trouble. We have a round pool so our roller is placed in the middle of the pool which is different than most of the instructional videos. Luckily I was able to attach the clips to the reinforced middle seam of the cover. Tried it out last night and rolls much easier with 8 straps rather than the 2 out of 3 (one was broken) that I had. Waiting to see how well the velcro hold but so far I am happy with the purchase.
