CURT 13494 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-Inch Receiver, Fits Select Subaru Outback, Legacy

I have a 2024 Subaru outback and this fits perfectly. As others have said, the hardest part is just taking off the bumper and that really isn't all that difficult, just do as they say in the instructions and pull out the sides first and then the back. Once that is off, the only other thing that wasn't right was they said there would be 14mm bolts and 17mm bolts, I only have 14mm but that wasn't an issue. It took me about 1.5 hours all in and the longest part was pulling off the clips. The trick here is to only pull out the center circle about an 1/8 of an inch, if you pull it further that can cause the flaps on the inside to expand again making it harder to pull out. Definitely recommend this to anyone who feels comfortable working on cars.

This trailer hitch fits perfectly. Because of the shape it hangs a little lower than an OEM and requires less trimming of the rear bumper. Installation was straight forward and just like OEM hitch. Bumper removal was pretty simple, just like the videos I watched, and install was just like putting parts back in place. Fishing the bolts was easy with the supplied wires. Instructions even provided torque specs for the bolts. One more note, I did not need to remove the exhaust as there is enough flex in it all to easily get my socket on the bolt on that side

This receiver was very easy to install and fit perfectly on our 2025 Outback. Anyone with a little confidence can install this. Simply pop off the bumper cover and one electrical connector, remove six bolts and the bumper cross member, mount the receiver, reinstall the bumper cross member, and reattach the bumper cover. Cutting away a small part of the bumper cover was simple and accurate (you cut on the bottom, not the visible face). The receiver is nicely tucked away and looks like a factory install. Took less then 90 minutes from start to finish.

Easy to install. Fit was perfect and took me about 1 hour total by myself.

Product OK, towed twich no issue. But there is no bumper cutting instructions to allow you cut for the hitch, you have to find one online or eyeballing. And by putting it behind the absorbtion bar, the bar assemply will be too think for original bumper and you cannot fit all plactic plugs back. Have to change the bumper as well, or tape it. But still easier than the geniue one which needs to remove exhust pipe to install.

Worked like a champ on 2023 Outback XT, towed loaded Uhaul 2-axle trailer with it from Texas to East coast. Clearance was good, it dont stick out and looks ok. Easy to install as long as you have ratchet and wrenches, took like an hour or two. Require cutting plastick from the bumper.

I put this on my 2025 Outback Wilderness. Fit perfectly with no issues. Instructions were not the best as the photos were difficult to see. I watched a couple of videos on the installation and everything went fine. Per the instructions, I did have to cut the bottom of the bumper facia to accommodate the hitch but it was minimal (approx 3”x3”). The receiver portion does extend a little below the bumper so it does affect the departure angle of the back bumper roughly an inch and an half, to two inches, where it might drag on departure angle critical terrain. The square receiver is all that is visible from the rear of the vehicle the rest of the hitch is up behind the bumper facia.

Item arrived as advertised, packaging was minimal but sufficient. Installation was very straightforward, I watched installation videos (e-trailer and U-Haul), after doing so, the installation was quite simple. The only "hiccup" I ran into during the installing was the access to the carriage bolt nuts. I have the Touring XT which has dual exhaust, the carriage bolt nuts are not easy to tighten/torque with a ratchet/torque wrench due to the location of the mufflers and the Hangers, however I was able to use a swivel head socket to torque both carriage bolts to spec without needing to unhook any component of the exhaust. Total installation took 1.5 to 2 hours with minimal help.

Fast shipping and perfect fit for our 2022 Outback. The most difficult (tedious) part of this job are the plastic anchors and actual removal of the plastic bumper. Makes it way easier if you have an extra set of hands to help you for this step. There are some great video resources online that walk you through the step-by-step installation.

Great quality hitch, with clear installation instructions, fits like a glove on 2023 Outback. Perfect communication with the seller, one flange nut was missing from the package but they promptly sent a replacement. Excellent customer service!

Packaging was poor so not damage on my hitch. Installation is long , not complicated so you need to see the video on Etrailer.com for make step by step the job. Paint quality looks good, no cap plug include with the hitch.

Arrived late in ripped bubble wrap, paint was scratched in a few places, I repainted it with gloss black spray paint. Install was straightforward. Costs less than half of what the OEM would.
