As it relies on the USB cable from the car's power supply to connect the device to work, it does not retain previous distance data when the car is switched off, nor does it accumulate the total trip mileage with the power off. What is the "driving direction angle"? Does that represent a compass direction? Or maybe the incline of the vehicle?

Yes, the driving direction angle is the compass direction, because the compass can only show the general direction, the display of DIR can show the angle of the specific driving direction, for example, 120° in the southeast, press the left button to switch the driving speed MPH and the driving direction angle DIR display. Can this unit display kph as well as mph?
