Q: There have recently been comments suggesting that some of the bearings are of Chinese make, and not to be trusted, has this been addressed?

The kit I ordered in October contained Chinese bearings. Stupidly, I installed them. The car went 50 miles then the timing belt lept of the cam gears and shredded itself. No one could give me a good explanation for the spontaneous self destruction my engine had gone through. After having the heads rebuilt (AGAIN) I put the OEM bearings and tensioner back on, and the car has now done 300 miles without incident. I STRONGLY suspect the Gates bearings opr tensioner were to blame. AVOID THESE KITS.
