It'll take one adapter for the hose fittings that's not included, but otherwise, it works as advertised. The key for me was the fine mesh net so the smallest debris doesn't pass through and clog up the filter. Easy to disassemble and clean. Letting it dry out after use and storing it out of the sun will help it last longer. I've used it twice in about three months and it still looks new. I would buy this again. Update: 9/8/22 (after 4 months) - I've used the canister 3 times in the 4 months I've had it and it has worked fine until the 3rd time. I had a little more debris than normal and after about 5 minutes, the canister imploded, and developed 2 vertical cracks along the canister body and 2 stress areas. Since the product has a 1 year warranty, I submitted the warranty claim on line and contacted TCP Global customer service ( agent for US Pool Supply products) the next day. I was overwhelmed with the positive response I got. The representative verified my purchase information and said they would be sending out a whole new unit, not just a replacement canister. I received the replacement unit 2 days after contacting TCP Global in a box marked "Rush". Just amazing, what great customer service. I can unquestionably give a 5 star recommendation for products sold by TCP Global/US Pool Supply. I still give the canister 4.5 stars. It works, but the plastic canister could be a little stronger. My thought about why the fractures occurred in the first place is that there probably was too much negative pressure from the debris in the silt bag. If you are picking up a lot of fine sand or silt, you should empty the bag several times during a cleaning session.

I have owned this skimmer for two years. It works well with my in ground pool / equipment. However the o ring has failed and I can't find a way to order a new one. Help??

No matter what I do, the canister does not make an air tight seal. It constantly lets in a small amount of air. I should have spent more money on a better item. I've wasted so much time messing with this thing.

My pool hose has connectors that twist lock to each ( you can see in the photo) so I didn't know if this would work or not. But it did! In the box are three attachments. By using an attachment at both ends, I was able to connect it inline with the hose sections using just hand pressure. The box doesn't come with the filter socks, thankfully I had already had some. We get a lot of grit/sand here in Arizona along with leaves and I can't seem to use the socks in the skimmer or in the pump so I'm glad that this filter was capable. I bought the small version since I just have a backyard diving pool and that will be sufficient. It is pretty sturdy. It does take several steps to open.

Updated September 2023: My first of these lasted about 18 months before the top screw-on blue piece cracked. My second one lasted about 18 months again. This time the clear plastic top lid shattered, about 2 months after the o-ring started leaking air.. Maybe related? I clean the canister regularly and don't run the suction too high... I agree with others that this could be a great product if it was made a little stronger all around, and if the seller could include (or sell separately) some replacement o-rings. Original review After reading all of the reviews about the body cracking within a few weeks, I guess I should feel lucky that mine is still operating relatively well after 2 full seasons. Unfortunately, the top piece (blue screw-on top) has cracked in two places. I'm not sure whether that is due to weakened plastic due to 2 seasons of sun exposure or to making the lid too tight and having to wrestle it off sometimes. It's still working correctly, but, I can see that it won't last much longer before the top cracks off completely.. I wish I could just buy a new top piece for it. The rest is still in good shape. I plan to reach out to the seller and see. Overall, this has worked well but I'd like to see a few improvements... 1. Stronger body and top. 2. Some sort of nubs or other way to better grip the top for turning it on and off. I'm thinking of something similar to the top of a Rook on a chess board. 3. Bigger volume. This one is much bigger than my previous one, but, even bigger would be better.

Bought a second one as I had initially thought the first one I had was stepped on but realized the vacuum was actually so strong it had been the real reason for cracks developing in the plastic. Though I do love this product nonetheless and was able to repair it with some super glue and other epoxies. It really is a great product though nonetheless as a prefilter to prolong the filtration of the main filter and having a sand filter that is a pain to replace every four years, this certainly helps in prolonging replacing the sand inevitably. Highly recommend though overall but after the glue and epoxy repair and full curing both inside and outside, it still works as good as new.

I had one of these when I lived in Florida attached to my pool cleaner that worked great. Too bad the USPS driver was too lazy to bring the package to the porch. I watched her as she dropped it under a tree next to the street. We hooked it up yesterday and air is accumulating in the unit. We double checked the connections and the O-ring. Hubby said it looked like there were striations on the bottom of the unit that goes closest to the pump. The kreepy krawley hose is brand new so no air leakage there. I will revisit this review after dealing with the seller. The seller immediately sent a replacement and we installed it this weekend. Works fine!!!

I was in two minds whether to get this or not as it costs more than I was really prepared to pay, but I couldn't find a decent alternative. It took a while to arrive in the UK, but I'm very pleased with it. The whole thing seems well made and it worked straight away with little fuss. I needed an extra length of hose to connect it to the skimmer, but once that was done I could use this. After some building work we had a lot of grit in the pool, and this saved me having to allow it to go into the filter. I also used it to lift the leaves in the water which saved netting them out before I could vac it. So, I'm pleased I got this canister, and I'll probably use it everytime I have leaves in the pool when cleaning day comes around.

I wish I knew about this years ago. We have a large inground pool. We have cedar trees all around our yard and have a hard time removing the pine needles in our pool. They would always block our pump. We attach it to our pool cleaner hoses and all of the needles, sand and other debris get trapped in. This saves time and our pool pump from being damaged.

I love love this product, it has saved me so much time and effort I have it just before the skimmer on the vacuum line. I use it with the kripy crawler and the hand vacuum. I can see when the leaves and other have filled the basket and do not have to keep going to the pump house to shut off the pump to empty the basket. even when the basket is full the water can still get around and doesn't slow down the filter. amazing product. wish I had purchased it many years ago
