I haven't tried myself but they appear strong enogh. I bought for crown preparations.

How do I know that it is an authentic kilgore model and teeth?

I bought it to practice on for the dental boards. It is was a light weight version but very sturdy. The replacement teeth for the other types of kilgore typodont fit it perfectly.
