Review: Loving Your Name and Respecting Others Names - This is a great book for kids who have names that are often mispronounced. However, after reading it I also thought how good it would be if more kids, not just those with names others struggle to pronounce correctly, read this book. It empowers a child to understand and know that correcting others, even adults and teachers, for something as "small" and simple as your name is important and necessary. It also lets you understand how it can be hurtful if you decide to give someone a nickname without their consent or ask to call them something different than their original name. Loved the illustrations, loved the plot, loved the messaging. I learned about this book from an early childhood educator who spoke highly of it. Review: Great story, adorable visuals, and wonderful message - This is such a fun book with amazing visuals and a great story. I read this to my kindergarten class and they loved it!

names matter
this was so relatable for anyone who had a "unique" name growing up. What I like most about it is that it actually works through some of the feelings and practical aspects of how to deal with people trying but mispronouncing your name or just deciding they'll call you something else because it's easier. It's hard to stand up when people are trying to be nice and you know that you're a little different anyway, but this is such a lovely and affirming story that will help children embrace their beautiful and unique names along with the history behind them.

Self worth from your name? Sure thing!
So many beautiful names of students in our multicultural classrooms nowadays. Teaching students their worth starts with taking the time to learn the meaning and proper pronunciations of each others names. Always a lovely class and helps the students to explore their own name’s meanings.

I bought this book for my class and it was the loveliest introduction at the start of the year. A beautiful story that highlights it’s ok to speak up for yourself! This book was an amazing topic for the children and generated lots of discussion around different nationalities and origins of names

This book is simply adorable and touches on a critical aspect of self identity acceptance many children experience in their lives. The illustration style is lovely. Extremely well done book!
