UPDATE: Utterly frustrating, do not purchase
UPDATE AFTER 3 MONTHS:This phone is barely usable and I absolutely cannot recommend purchasing due to 2 major problems:- Ghost touches. It suffers severely with random phantom screen touches. This leads to me CONSTANTLY muting myself in calls, randomly clicking on things I didn't intend to click, closing conversations etc. I've removed the screen protector, case etc but this is clearly a hardware problem. I just did a scan with Partial Screen and it registered 33 (!) different ghost touch points in a single minute.- It randomly reboots from time to time, often when you're in the middle of something. This is a commonly-reported issue. These two issues take it from a 3/4-star phone (some frustrating quirks) to 1-star. It's absolutely unreliable and due to the lack of support there's pretty much no chance the issues would be addressed with software updates. Considering this is pitched as a rugged work phone, it's unfit for purpose and I will be pursuing a refund.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Ok yes; the thermal camera is fantastic. The infiray sensor is a class above anything else fitted to a phone so far, the resolution is really impressive. Battery life is also stellar...except when it isn't (see below). The camera is terrible and the software is a mixed bag.TL;DR: absolutely not worth £400+ unless you're DESPERATE for a good thermal imaging sensor. However, the main camera is TRASH. Awful auto-exposure, awful processing (night mode is inexplicably grainy), sluggish focus that often fails completely even in perfect light. Trying to manually adjust the exposure with the slider does nothing and then suddenly jumps down massively, and selecting a point for auto-exposure also doesn't do much.Frustratingly, if you leave the camera app before the photo has fully saved and appeared in the gallery, it gets deleted! You have to remember to wait a few seconds for it to pop up every time. I've lost a lot of good moments this way already. My camera roll is also full of random blurry shots where for some reason the camera triggered (probably the poor palm reduction).I'm a professional photographer who always has a camera on me so I'm not fussy at all on phone cameras, but I was still shocked at how poor this one is.The infiray (thermal camera) app is integrated into the OS, so it's unlikely to ever get updates. however it's rather buggy and sometimes hangs randomly, and it never remembers your settings when you reopen it. the default blended with the camera isn't very useful, and it's far better with the thermal sensor only, but I have to change this every time I launch it.The screen is nice and crisp, with fairly accurate colours, though it's a bit dim in sunlight. And it's also really bright on its lowest setting (even with 'ultra dim' enabled) making it a bit uncomfortable to use in low light. Oh, and there's an odd translation where when it's on high brightness, the slider says 'SCREEN TOO BRIGHT' as though it's warning you it's about to explode or something.Drone pilots: this will absolutely NOT fit the current DJI controllers. You can 3d-print a little clip that makes it work though. The software experience is ok but a bit lacking in polish. Back gestures seem maddeningly inconsistent and sometimes don't register, or you think they haven't registered and do it twice only to go back too far. Overall the system is snappy though.Palm rejection is a MAJOR frustration - there basically isn't any. It's really really easy to trigger accidental touches and continuously drives me nuts. When the battery is good, it's really good. 12hrs screen-on time is no problem. However, lately I've been getting a lot more battery drain, which mostly seems to be attributed to 'Android System' (30-40%!). This is hurting the battery life but because so many apps are included under Android System I'm struggling to pin down the culprit. For the rather premium price of £400+ you're really not getting a whole lot for your money. I ignored other reviews saying 'don't bother unless you REALLY want thermal imaging' and to be honest I regret my purchase a bit.

Battery excellent, camera lacking
I bought this phone is July and by late November, I have replaced it.So, the good bitsthe battery life is excellent, like I really didn't have to worry about whether I was never a charger or not, a consideration I do have to consider with the replacement. It was also speedy and had decent memory. It was sturdy, you know, as expected from a rugged phone. The thermal imaging camera was cool, if largely pointless, but is one of the few features I would actually turn the phone on for.Now for the bad- the main microphone sucked, no one could hear me a calls unless I put them on speaker or external headsets, which was pretty inconvenient considering phonecalls is literally one its primary volks. The right vision camera almost never workedthe main camera was lacking, I mean it's meant to be 48mp but the picture quality was significantly poorer than the phone I had before it or the one I replaced it with after some disappointing holiday pictures made me realise how much I value a chart phone camera.when talking video the screen constantly flickered and this showed up in the recordings, which was not ideal. Some of these seemed like software issues and others hardware, but after just a few month s the negatives were getting to me enough to change.for people who don't care about camera Or, you know, people being able to hear You on calls, this might be a great option, but otherwise steer clear. All the issues noted were from the get go, So not due to any external damage, but since I had dropped the phone as well, so it has scratches on the case, So I didn't try to send it back, but did want to provide others with some information to help them decide if this is the phone for them or not (whilst accepting it is possible that I just had a back handset).

Once something breaks noone can fix it
There is no replacement screen that can be bought for this model. I have been looking for a year now and ordered several from all sorts of different websites but none of them match the phone. Waste of time and money. Good phone if you don't break it.
