I've never had to use one of these before as I've only had gas golf carts, but our newest one is 48V and was without a 12V power source. This paired with a new lighting kit and worked like a charm! What I did not expect was the initial arc of power that will scare you once you connect the negative to the converter, as if something were turned on at the other end. I have read that this is expected and is nothing to be worried about. My only complaint is that the power cabling is way too short for mounting the unit away from the batteries. I ended up having to splice my own cabling onto the inputs/outputs to mount it in a cleaner and safer area away from the batteries.
