The strainer works really well, even when full. The only problem with it is the center part sticks up above the bottom of the sink, which allows water to drain out even if the strainer is full, but this also means if you place a heavy pot in the sink, there is a lot of weight on this part of the strainer. Being made of perforated silicone, it will bend, come apart from the metal surround, and eventually break, as mine did after 8 months of use. I’m still buying another one because overall it’s better than any other sink strainer I’ve tried, I just wish it was a more durable design.

This item is useful to me only because I have 2 kitchen sinks. It does not close off water loss so you can't wash dishes but it does a nice job of draining fluids and catching food you don't want to go down the drain.

If you, like me, need a strainer for your kitchen sink that will allow you to wash dishes with no thought to stuck on food particles clogging up your pipes, this is the strainer for you. It fits the sink perfectly and it catches food particles efficiently. It was a great find!

Not the same as previous that I purchased. They serve the purpose but the bottoms on the old ones were better because they were curved so the fit better than these.
